  1. This doesn't make sense if you want to save energy: those small heating units are not as efficient as a central heat pump with underfloor heating (even better, if combined with solar panels and good insulation). Not to mention the comfort...

  2.  @ctr289  Even the idea of using kotatsu doesn't seem so appealing to me... My legs and feet would be too hot, while my upper body would feel very cold, comparetively.

  4.  @sammishootz  Ceilings in historical palaces, villas and condos here in Italy are even higher than yours on average, and yes, we do keep our houses warm.
