I own a semi-detached townhouse with a big garden and I'm 15 mins by bicycle from the city centre, a 10-mins walk from 5 different supermarkets and A LOT of other kinds of small shops and big stores, 5 mins from two huge parks, gyms, a multiplex, public offices of all kinds, postal service, several banks, theatres, dozens of restaurants and bars, you name it. Not to mention efficient public trasports (trains, tramways, buses). I never need to drive a car. And no, I'm not rich. Far from it. But I'm debt-free... 👍 I would never, ever exchange all this for a life in the American suburbs. Just... nope.

  2.  @Bolensgoldrush  I have like, 6 different supermarkets a 10-mins walk from home, and at least double that number a 10-mins ride away by bicycle. Some are medium-sized, some are big. The brands are differents, so I can choose what to buy in each one and save money.

  3. I experienced the same thing in LA... If I tried walking, I always got stuck somewhere because the sidewalks were missing.

  7. 100 millions in 30 years? I don't think so... The fertility rate is not that high in the US.
