  67. I was molested by an older sibling at around the age of 5 while I slept - I woke up one night while this ocurred and as a child felt confused. I am not sure for how long this occurred. When I turned ten I became anorexic and was not eating. I would see myself in the mirror and see myself as over weight ( a delusion). My mom worried to no end. She tried cooking my favorite meals, doctors, etc. My gums bled from scurvy and my hair would fall out. And II was saddened to see how worried my mother was. I had no control. I became depressed and wanted to quit school - I begged her. I had such low self esteem. In HS I was skin and bones and had a crush on my HS History teacher. I was very shy but somehow my feelings for this teacher would overwhelm me and I would always try to get near him. One day a kid in the back of the class noticed and yelled out “you are nothing but skin and bones” and you are after the teacher. I ran immediately to the bathroom and for the first time saw my real self (sunken cheekbones/protruding collar bones). That day at dinner I forced myself to eat a teaspoon of food and everyday Increased a little bit more. I’m so proud of my mother’s love for me that she never once gave up on me and my delusion. Thanks to her and my sister, I didn’t quit school and went on to College. As children we need that strong hand from the parent as to what is best for us. I believe in my heart if Jazz would have waited along with her parents for this surgery, at least till she was an adult perhaps she would have avoided so much physical and emotional pain. As for my HS teacher, he also liked me and told me we could look each other up after I turned 18.
