I know of a movie production nightmare that most either don't about or refuse to admit happened, because it would mean shifting the blame of a bad movie to someone else when most people blame the director for that movies failure. Ready? Brace yourselves, you may find this one hard to believe. The Last Airbender: Few people know this, but Nicolodean did not like the Cartoon despite the fact it made them millions. So when the movie deal was made and production began they put Shymalan on a pretty tight leash. The studio was constantly interfering, Shymamaln's decisions were getting mandated and overruled, ILM was being pushed and their special effects(Which would have been better) were getting overruled and replaced with the ones in the movie, cast and crew moral was low and in the end everyone was upset. But the studio denied interference and the blame was put on Shymalan. It was only recently that this news has seen the light of day. If you want proof, best look at this. http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Why-Last-Airbender-Was-Terrible-It-Maybe-Wasn-t-Night-Fault-66676.html The Last Airbender is a prime example that a director should be free to direct the movie without any interference from the studio and special effect companies should also be free to make the effects without interference as well. Later, Nic's studio interference resurfaced with The Legend of Korra, but this time they were caught.

taqu America needs more serious animation aimed at adults. Not this shit comedy from stuff like Family Guy or South Park which are less mature shows then toddler shows frankly. I'd expect adult shows to be more mature then kid ones. A more adult remake of Airbender would fit the spot.

taqu I actually think someone should remake the movie with better writing and darker themes.

Tony Davis I know. The reason so many refuse to acknowledge this is because it would mean shifting blame after getting so used to it.

Tony Davis I see you're point now. I always knew that Avatar The last airbender was just an attempt to cash in on the success of anime in America.

taqu Well honestly I don't even think Airbender, show or movie should have been aimed at a younger audience. That's one of the problems I have with the show. Yes I admit I did not like the show.
2
Tony Davis I suppose.

+Revkor I know. Everyone from the director, to the cast and crew was upset.

Zappas Bappas An even bigger challenge was low cast and crew moral as few thought the movie would work. This was a mythology like story, merged with Science Fiction and it had never been done before. Most thought they were making a dumb kids movie or a forgettable B-Movie. In the end, they changed their minds.
