  5. Characters change with time, just as how real people change with time. So must franchises. The story of Luke, Han, Leia and Lando is over. This is the story of Rey, Finn, Poe and Rose. I think the reason the Force has made both Rey and Kylo so powerful is for them to reunite the Light and Dark sides of the Force. Even before the sequels there were signs that the Force had a will of it's own.

  7. That's one of the themes of TLJ. The dangers of romanticizing heroes and the past. Fans have been worshiping the originals and Luke as if he was a saint and the originals were his holy texts. But Luke is a human being with all the flaws that come with it, and the originals were just popcorn entertainment. That's it.
