Ironically, Ramseses, despite his ego, was not a two dimensional villain.

Tell your people that as of today, their work load has been doubled. Thanks to their god. Or is it thanks... to you?
22
Plus, there would also be signs of Egyptian influence in Hebrew artifacts. But there are none. Sounds like the whole thing may have been a propaganda piece.

I don't believe that story. Rameses may have had a massive ego. But he never made slaves build any monuments to him or the gods. All of them were built by paid laborers who had their own unions. And he wasn't the two dimensional villain from the Ozymandus poem. Even people with massive egos can be complicated, three dimensional human beings,

Grow up.

I agree. History on Trial should be built on FACTS.
2
But there are no signs of ANY Egyptian influence in ANY Hebrew artifacts.
2
@RorySmith-Dube-fm7ll Sorry, but social studies show that enslaved populations adopt the non enslaved populations traits. And if they wanted to erase that part of their history, why does it show up all the time? Answer. It's all propaganda.
2
All religions exaggerate oppression. Even Christianity does it. It's bigger propaganda then Rameses. In fact, Rameses was the perfect scapegoat for these faiths. And I don't trust the three Abrahamic faiths. I find that most of their followers have holier then thou attitudes towards others and believe themselves immune to laws that protect actual marginalized people.
2
There was no exodus.
1
We do have factual evidence that he was an competent politician and Egypt prospered in his reign.
1
@va1355 You're putting your trust in myth instead of facts? We do know that his reign was prosperous fpr Egypt.
1
@va1355 That's because there's more evidence then that. Look up Ancient Egypt.
1
@va1355 He was also an innovator. And we have evidence not from him, that confirms it.
1
@va1355 No it is relevant.
1
@va1355 But we have archaeological evidence that Egypt did prosper in his reign. Read a book, go to a museum. See for yourself.
1
@va1355 Except, I'm not talking records, fromage for brains. I'm talking archaeology.
1
@va1355 And again you miss the point.
1
@va1355 They are relevant. Because I told you, we have evidence that Egypt prospered in his reign. Look it up.
1
@va1355 The point is, he was not the fraud or failure you think he was. Read history. Not religion.
1
@va1355 Gaslighting won't work on me.
1
@mnm1273 But I don't think Exodus was real.
1
But we have archaological artifacts and records of the Hebrews, and none of them have Egyptian influence.
1
@yvetteihemesinwa2981 Show it.
1
They never were in Egypt. If they were, there would be Egyptian influence on their artifacts.
1
Sure...
1
Slaves in Egypt never did construction work. They were house servants.
1
He was a complicated, flawed human being with good and bad traits. On one hand, yes he was very egotistical and a major showoff. At the same time, he was a good politician for his time and Egypt and it's people prospered. So at least some of his self praise is warranted.
1
It's all a propaganda story.
1
Even though there is no evidence exodus being true and no signs of Egyptian influence in any Hebrew artifacts?
1
@juliansmulian But we also have ancient hebrew artifacts. And NONE of them have any Egyptian influence.
1
And now those faiths are in decline.
1
I doubt that would have worked.
1
@RorySmith-Dube-fm7ll My goodness. So much wrong there. Because we DO know. And people have been hiding it.
1
I agree. He was a complicated, flawed human being. An egomaniac, who ushered in a prosperous reign for Egypt.
1
There was no exodus. We have jewish artifacts that date all the way back to their founding. And none of them have Egyptian influence. And cultural studies show that overtime, enslaved groups are influenced by their master and even adopt traits even after getting freedom.
1
@don9ablo But they picked up the religion that was used to justify their enslavement.
1
@don9ablo The bible is a book of myth. Not a history book.
1
@don9ablo Because there are none. History on trial is written on FACTS. Not legends and folklore.
1
@NoName-hg6cc And that's something to be proud of.
1
The difference is he's more honest about his policies.
