Personally I have a very positive impression of Japan. I’ve been to Japan. Great country to visit. I have many friends who lives in Japan.

What is happening in HK is basically the CCP can charge crimes that carry long sentences on anyone they don't like. This is tyranny. This corruption of the rule of law. HK used to have independent judiciary and political system but now it's all destroyed by Xi Jinping.

I feel sad many Chinese workers will get screwed if Evergrande collapses. This is excessive speculation. This is damn if you do damn if you don't situation.

The problem in the Philippines is the wealthy are using politics as part of their business. If you look at the government as a whole a lot of the elected officials are wealthy people themselves. Of course they will enact policies that favor the wealthy. The Philippines elites can cooperate with the middle class and the poor to uplift the country as a whole. They can do that by increasing wages instead of trying to depress wages thru schemes like ENDO. This reminds me of the story of the Scandinavian countries like Denmark, Sweden, etc. during the 1900s they are some of the poorest countries in the world. Their talented and skilled people keep leaving the country until such a time they realize they need talented people to uplift the country. So the government decided to enact policies that retain talents as well as discourage migration. After almost 100 years, look at Sweden, Denmark, etc. They have become some of the wealthiest countries in the world with the world's lowest in income inequality.

If that is your logic then how about the CCP pay compensation for all the people killed during Mao Zedong. That is 30+ million murder by the CCP thru starvation or political persecution. How about compensation for the 10,000+ killed during the Tiananmen Square massacre ? Or how about the thousands of Falun Gong killed and organ harvested ? The CCP is the biggest murderer of the Chinese people.

Older Taiwanese = We like China’s economy and infrastructure. Young Taiwanese = We like our freedoms, culture and democracy. The young lady is right in latest survey conducted 70% wants status quo (defacto independence) but without officially declaring in order to keep the peace. 25% wants full independence (declare). Only less than 5% wants full unification with China.

If they stay in HK they will be a second class citizen of the CCP.

I really love watching Korean drama. They are really the best. I might be in the minority but IMHO "Squid Game" is just okay, I don't really like it. I would very much prefer series like "Hotel Del Luna".

Fast forward to 2022, Duterte got played by Xi Jinping. His concessions to China in SCS gave zero economic prosperity results. The CCP regime can never be trusted. It’s a regime that bullies and preys on other small developing countries with debt slavery. Look at what is happening in Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Laos, etc. those countries are all deeply indebted to China and China exploits their natural resources while their people gain nothing from the debt slavery. While the Chinese people are generally good, but their government the CCP is an evil regime.

The only reason why George Lloyd was murdered by the white police officer is because he is black. Yes racism and white supremacy is still a massive problem in the US. If George Lloyd were white he wouldn’t have been killed. This problem is magnified by Trump’s rhetoric. Also this problem is essentially modern day lynching due to lack of accountability. When a bad police killed someone they are often merely fired. The system protects the police more than it protects civilians, it is rare for a police to go to jail for killing a black person especially if the police is white. So often these police would get fired then they would apply for a job at a nearby town or another state and they would be hired again. But this mass protests means people are trying to hold the government accountable.

The service is more like a bandaid until they gain the strength and courage to fix their family problems. For many people, all it takes is a chance to regain their footing again in order to correct their past mistakes.

This is essentially excessive capitalism. Exploitation of the workers at the bottom so the few at the top can make millions. Who are making all that money ? Directors, producers and Voice actors. Wow $500 per month..that's not even enough to pay rent in the US.

Loneliness is a real killer in Japan. This is why suicide by the elderly and the young are so high.

The global economic reset is coming.

The old Korean guy basically admitted he bought harvested organ from China.

Also a majority of the protests are peaceful. While there are some violence and looting, vandalism involved a majority are peaceful. It’s easy to show one instance of violence and then claim all protesters are violent. What is sad is many anarchist and violent people are instigating violence. Many police are using violence freely too. Unfortunately instead of trying to calm everyone, Trump is instead saying stupid things like he would “dominate the protesters”. Sad to say the US currently has no leader only a spoiled brat trying to instigate a race war in the US. It is time for Trump to resign.

Yeah Trump really wrecked the US global reputation or rather he exposes the holes in US politics and that made many US allies that relied on US military protection question whether the US can be relied on in a pinch. Biden and future US presidents will have a huge job ahead rebuilding America’s reputation and fixing the systemic rot inside US politics. The illusion of America’s superiority as a bastion of democracy, rule of law and global leadership that took over 70 years to build was wrecked in merely 4 years. I know Trump isn’t the source of the rot but rather the entrenched oligarchy and partisan politics that often wrecks people’s lives is the ultimate source of dysfunctional in America. The ship we are sailing in has a hole, water are pouring in, we can either do something to plug and repair the hole or do nothing until the whole ship sinks. I still believe in democracy but democracy involves work and people getting involved. Quoting Bernie Sanders: “Democracy is not a spectator sports.”

Also note there are many different types of “Chinese” living in Asia. One is Taiwanese Chinese, they are more open minded, liberal and democratic. There are also Malaysian Chinese, Singaporean Chinese and Hong Kong Chinese. All of them span the spectrum between conservative to liberal/progressive (left or right wing). The CCP are mostly mainland Han Chinese (98% at least with a few token members from Ethnic minority groups).

Personally I like Chinese culture and the Chinese people. I just don't like the CCP government and their government policies towards Taiwan and the ill treatment of their own people (Uyghurs slavery and genocide). I think the CCP under Xi has become a massive bully.
