Yep Lei has great insights. Unfortunately most of western/US media are all controlled by billionaires with business interests in China that is why you don’t see too many criticism of China on MSNBC, CNN, Bloomberg, etc. This gave rise to a lot of small or independent news or content creator on YouTube and on other platforms.

Most of the Chinese companies listed in the US stock exchanges aren’t real Chinese stocks they are called ADR or American Depository Receipt. When you buy a Chinese ADR you aren’t actually buying a Chinese company stock but you are buying a stock from a shell company founded in the Cayman Islands that represents the Chinese company. It is illegal for Chinese companies to list on the NASDAQ or NYSE so they use ADRs as a loophole. All in all it’s mean to con American stock investors who doesn’t know any better (or who haven’t done any research) and think they are buying stocks from a Chinese company when in fact they aren’t. They have no voting rights nor stock representation in China with those Chinese ADRs. They are basically used as an instrument for speculation or acquiring capital by companies in China. What’s disgusting is US Wall Street continues to peddle Chinese ADRs as supposedly “sound investment” but in reality it’s all one big scam.

You are right. Tesla and Musk are screwed. The biggest weakness of the US corporations is its bottomless corporate greed and the CCP knows exactly how to exploit it to the detriment of US society. And the CCP never stopped looking at the US society as an ideological enemy that must be destroyed as democracy, capitalism and freedom are diametrically opposite of the CCP’s communism, authoritarian, total control model. Elon Musk only makes money thru government subsidies. When California said oh we won’t subsidize your Tesla production anymore he moves his HQ to Texas to avoid paying taxes. Why do you think Tesla created a gigafactory in China ? The CCP government gave him massive multi billion dollar subsidies on land and taxes (those cost money to the Chinese tax payers). Ask yourself why is vegetables now more expensive than pork? Why is coal more expensive than food? Why is Xi trying to raise tension in the Taiwan strait ? All of these means his regime is feeling very uneasy not confident. He knows he cannot induce confidence in his rule thru the economy (because China is suffering from stagflation now). So now he is trying Chinese ultranationalism just like Mussolini and Hitler. This is because during 30 years of China’s economic boom — trillions are wasted on ostentatious projects by the Jiang CCP faction. Now all that money is gone — 2012 is when China’s economy started slowing down and the upcoming demographic collapse. Why do you think phenomenon like “laying flat” is happening ? The Chinese people feel hopeless. Xi cannot do anything to save the economy from collapse. All he can do is tighten the reigns. I read in the news the other day, they have further limited USD withdrawal from Chinese banks from $15,000 to $10,000 per year. The CCP is running out of money to run the country.

@morbitzWkWk Nobody wants to buy their so called "assets" it's a dead weight. That means once Evergrande collapses it will pull down China's entire real estate industry. Remember they still have about 1.2 million homes yet to be delivered and a debt of over $300 billion in bonds. The ones screwed won't be Evergrande's boss, the ones screwed will be the suppliers and downline businesses Evergrande owes money to and the 1.2 million home buyers where their life savings went up in smoke. The CCP allowed this shit to happen.

@morbitzWkWk Its not even propaganda, its common sense. Think, where did all the money go ? Who is backing Evergrande from 1996 - 2018 ? They took the money from the people for a future home. All that money were paid out to share holders many are CCP officials who are in on the scam and they approved everything Evergrande did. They already took their money years or decades ago. Now people are looking for homes they paid for years ago but Evergrande did not build anything. It's so simple. Evergrande boss colluded with the Jiang CCP faction and other Chinese oligarchs, the authoritarian system did not allow such malfeasance to be reported to the public until it is too late. All of this is happened because of the corruption of the CCP.

Chang Kai Shek was a shitty leader, Mao Zedong was an even worst shitty leader. Main difference is Taiwanese stop idolizing Chang while CCP still loves Mao Zedong.

@morbitzWkWk Or so you claim yet most Taiwanese would still vote for democracy than be ruled by shitty CCP. The point is democracy allows people a say on who their leader is in a fair contest. Authoritarianism doesn't allow that. Plus Taiwan is considered one of the cleanest most transparent government in the world while China is always ranked last on par with North Korea and other despotic governments. No country is perfect but democratic system allows people collective control of the levers of power while authoritarian system doesn't.

@morbitzWkWk If you look at all my comments I’m not pro-US or anti-China. I’m anti-assholes that is running this world to the ground which includes assholes in both US and China. So which country has more assholes ? I would say China because they have a larger number of people although the US have 2nd biggest number of assholes too. The only saving grace is in the US the assholes can be voted out in due time while in China the assholes there are permanent fixtures.

@morbitzWkWk India has 1.2 billion people, it is a democracy. Does it need improvement ? Of course, but none the less it is a functioning democracy — their citizens can vote and can voice opposition in politics. So your fallacy that countries with huge population cannot have democracy is false. That’s just CCP propaganda and their excuse to continue their oppression of the Chinese people. Democracy doesn’t mean the country is perfect, it simply means the people can vote in or out their leaders.

@morbitzWkWk In a democracy we’re not afraid of criticizing those in power. We can even criticize our own government because the people has the power. In totalitarian system like the CCP, the people has no power only the autocrats which are treated as emperors or feudal lords. This is why I said the CCP is yet another Chinese dynasty, the name maybe different but the system is still the same.

@morbitzWkWk All countries have problems but the more democratic the country is the lesser the problem it has because people are able to address those problems. Is the US a shining beacon of democracy ? Of course not. I never once claimed the US is perfect. But the US is one of the most powerful democracies economically and militarily. If you are looking for absolutes then you won’t find it in this world. Being able to accept faults is the definition of a democracy unlike in China which the state and the government cannot ever admit or accept faults which ironically is why many totalitarian systems tend to fail.

In a 2020 survey of millionaires, 30% of them wants to leave China permanently and live elsewhere. Like I said China is a country without “rule of law” only a country “ruled by law”. It’s a broken country and society where universal human values and human rights means little to society. It’s a society engulf in materialism and wealth. Not everything is the CCP’s fault but these are the unintended consequences of CCP policies (which tends to be short sighted). The fallacy that the CCP plan long term is just that a fallacy.
