My mother have experienced that on a cruise ship with a bunch of Chinese tourists (mostly older women and men). They would grab an entire tray worth of food from the buffet, won't finish the food and then left a huge half eaten mess on their table. It's like watching a bunch of ravenous animals feed at least the animals would finish the food.

I actually like the "laying flat" philosophy. I don't think laying flat is laziness at all. It just means to enjoy life the way you wanted. You only work as much as you want to work. You eat sleep and enjoy life the best way you can within your means. Unfortunately the CCP is now even cracking down on "laying flat". They are threatening to punish the young people who does the "laying flat" lifestyle.

“We’re working 3 jobs a day to make ends meet.” Is not a sign of a very happy life.

Xi cosplaying as the biggest Chinese mass murderer Mao Zedong says everything you need to know about him.

What's worse is even if you declare bankruptcy and the banks confiscate the property and the property is sold you are still owed the initial cost of the loan. There is no debt discharge law in China unlike in the US (where the debt is fully discharged if the loan defaulted due to bankruptcy). Example: let's say if you buy a house for $1M and you paid 300K, then you became unable to pay. The bank can reposses and sell the home in an auction. Let's say the home sold for $500K + $300K principle = $200K balance. In the US, the $200K is eaten as a loss by the bank but in China, the $200K must still be repaid on top of interest and fees. In CCP China they kick you twice when you are down.

For those who have experienced the SMCs, yeah... cheap food huh? The downside is there is no variety to them. You eat what the government wants you to eat. Those who think this was "great" will soon realize the horrors of those "public canteens".
119
Thousands of western and Taiwan and Japanese businesses are indeed leaving China. The days of prosperity in China has ended. Only common poverty left.
115
I bet a lot are wondering, what's so bad about public canteens? They are cheap for a reason. The government basically decides what food are available on that day. Often they requisition supplies from the lowest cost suppliers. The quality is terrible and there are not a lot of varieties. Those who experience the socialized canteens for the first time will find it novel but if you are eating the same few varieties of dishes for years and years, decades after decades, then it is hell on Earth.

Ironically Country Gardens Yang Huiyan (楊惠妍) just bought her EU citizenship in Cyprus in 2018. I guess that is where she will flee when the shit comes down. The wealthiest Chinese billionaires all have citizenship in other countries.

Good to hear. Support Taiwan. Stop trading with the CCP.
80
One word: Eugenics. To create Chinese super soldiers that is resistant to diseases so they can use bioweapons freely. The CCP is researching future bioweapons that can only affect people of certain genome or ancestry.
74
Classic case of pancaking. This happens when 2 top floors were illegally added. The added weight basically causes the supporting structure to buckle causing a cascading collapse pancake effect. Just another day in China.
69
Sell everything. Get yourself and your money out of China before it is too late.
64
@slomo4672 actually the CCP can impose things on them such as sending those who lay flat too often to re-education camps like they do the Uyghurs there are lot of heinous despicable things the CCP can do.
60
People are merely treated as cogs of the state. No human rights, no stable jobs, no stable income, no welfare, no insurance, no labor unions. No wonder “laying flat” phenomenon is happening.
58
Why did the Sino-Indian border clashes erupted after 50 years of peace ? The answer is the CCP is now controlled by warmongering psychopaths with "little emperor syndrome" who seems intent on making enemies of the entire world. Now China is truly surrounded by potential enemies -- on the west (India), on the east (Taiwan / US allied nations), on the South (Vietnam/Australia), and from the north (Russia). From what I am hearing/reading the Sino-Russo relationship isn't so hot lately either. The CCP under Xi Jinping has essentially squandered the good will the Chinese people have built up for over half a century.
56
Excellent report. They will soon realize the folly of CCP trying to control nature or Heaven.

Yes, China has no personal bankruptcy protection laws. For example: if you buy a new home in China for 1 million RMB, adding all the regulatory fees and interests you have to pay would add up to about $1.15 million. Let's say you paid 50% (500K RMB) before defaulting on your mortgage. The house is repossessed by the bank and then sold off in an auction. Usually the auction price is very low around 100,000 RMB. Let's say the house was then auction sold for 200,000 RMB. The original owner still owes the bank 650,000 RMB minus 200,000 RMB. In the end he still owes the bank 450,000 RMB and no home. That's how CCP China system works. It's messed up. Why are auction prices very low in China? Because Chinese people do not like to buy 2nd hand homes. They always try to buy brand new homes. A 2nd hand foreclosed home is considered bad luck (because it is believed the house absorbs the person's luck or unluckiness). Many Chinese would be reluctant to buy a home where the previous owner has foreclosed. What is why many Chinese would rather give away their houses than deal with the bank or go thru the process of foreclosure. At least if they gave away the house, they no longer have to deal with the banks or pay their remaining debt obligations (it would be the new owner's problem).

It's basically Chengguan for the rural villages to make the rural people's lives miserable.

Point is don't invest in China, invest elsewhere in ASEAN or in Taiwan.
41
End game communism.

@gerianmasagnay9106 One thing you have to know is the CCP doesn’t need a valid reason to punish someone. It’s a totalitarian regime that sees its people are mere cogs aka slaves of the state. And just like a cruel slave master, it cannot stand to see its slaves idling doing nothing.
22
This is just a small snapshot of what is broken in Chinese society. It is a broken society of greed and materialism because of decades of suppression by the CCP and is in dire need of reform. This is why China needs the rule of law. The rich, powerful and wealthy should no longer be allowed to step on the backs of the working class.
22
Wow...this is so funny and so sad at the same time. It’s like extreme keeping up with the Jones. This is the effect of extreme income inequality in China and a broken political system and totalitarian dictatorship government. People resort to extreme measures just to get ahead in life.
20
If the CCP collapses it would actually be good for China. A new start for a more sensible government and society.
19
CCP cadre get so much money while normal citizens gets zilch no wonder why so many elderly peasants in China live in abject poverty.
19
@Shaolinof36thChamber that’s where bitcoin comes in…that’s how all the Chinese oligarchs funnel their money out.
16
One Belt One Road is an utter failure. It’s a massive wasted Chinese citizens money at the same time impose debt trap slavery on the host country. This failure is utterly on Xi Jin Ping’s head.
16
@NZeiram in the Philippines there is something called pre-selling. You pay for 20% of the cost of the home as an initial deposit. The 80% balance isn't due until the finished home is turned over to the buyer. In return you get a special pre-selling price which is a deep discount. That is totally unlike China where you need to start paying for a mortgage loan before the house was even built. Also in the Philippines, you are not legally obligated to buy the house you deposited on. Example: if you see a house or condo for say 3M, you pay a presell fee of around 600K. If you decide you no longer want or are incapable of buying the house or condo you can simply walk away although you could lose your initial deposit.
14
Xi overplayed his hand. He is now faced with both internal and external enemies. I predict Xi will indeed start something soon in order to deflect attention. If Xi arrested Jiang Zemin, I predict there will be a massive internal political war within China one that could potentially spill out into the streets.
13
Li Peng pushed for the project and now his family controls the power generation from the dam reaping billions in profits. Chinese engineers and geologists actually warned against building the dam because it disrupts the soil subsidence of the land near the dam causing frequent and deadly landslides. Unfortunately those who criticize the project were imprisoned.
12
Nope only in China where you need to fully pay for something you haven't even seen.
12
They aren't building houses that people can live in. Most of those empty concrete structures are unlivable. They are just that -- huge empty concrete structures, utterly worthless. There's entire cities full of them.
11
@gerianmasagnay9106 they aren't crazy. For them people are merely cogs of the state. If they don't work then they have no reason to be alive. That's what "meritocracy" with CCP characteristics really mean. If they don't work or benefit the society in anyway they might as well be good as dead. For those in the west, this may sound barbaric but with China’s large population of people, human lives aren’t worth much.
11
The only way to help the Chinese people is to help them get rid of the CCP autocratic regime.
11
@luqmanbello2343 that is just CCP propaganda. Only tier 1 cities are improving. People that live on tier 2-3-4 cities where 85% of people live says they felt poorer and even more over worked. Even Premier Li Keqiang says 600M people still live in poverty under 1000 RMB per month. You can't even pay rent with 1000 RMB. So wake up and stop believing in CCP lies. Income inequality in China and debt fueled economy are reaching catastrophic levels.
11
The CCP government only care about profits and what makes them look good. They don’t care about safety or stability of the construction at all.
10
The CCP now resorting to kidnapping/hostage taking of international businessmen by exit blocking them.
10
Instead of cracking a joke, this is entirely unacceptable. This is what happens in a totalitarian regime when people are not able to complain until things got so bad. I have said before, the CCP has mismanaged the Yellow River and Yangtze river. These are the main artery of the dragon of China. The benevolent water dragon is in agony due to the pollution and water mismanagement. Without water, then there is no life. The CCP is courting their demise and dragging the Chinese people along with them.

I pray everyday 翠 happens soon !!!

It's called a new homeowner's excitement. They are so excited at owning their own first homes they are blindsided by the small prints. Also new couples tend to over estimate their income potential. Also note their incomes were unexpectedly reduced due to COVID also unforeseen expenses like pregnancies.
9
Xi's regime is losing face left right and center. So funny. So much for China's "wolf warrior" diplomacy. It's looking more and more like "scaredy cat" diplomacy. The free and democratic world has woken up to Xi's lies and aggression.
9
It needs another 8 nation alliance against the CCP. Just waiting for Canada, UK, Germany and France to wake up and stop sucking on the teets of the CCP.
9
EVs have incredibly low resell value. An EV would lose 20-35% of its value on first resale even if it is only a few years old compared to 5-8% in ICE vehicles.
9
From 1990 - 2012 China did liberalize. Since 2013 till now it has regressed to Mao Zedong era policies.
9
I was doing research after watching this. Almost none of the US mainstream media reported on this. Makes me wonder why. So basically Huang Ou is used as a sacrificial goat to cover up the massive kleptocracy of the CCP. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.
8
It usually takes the life savings of 3 families (both parents of the bride and groom and the life savings of the couple) to buy a home.
8
All across the board.

This video is a very good example of why the CCP state capitalism system will eventually fail.
