  1. This only shows how weak and desperate Xi really is. It’s military ramp up is mostly for show. They know the world’s eyes are on China right now. If the CCP really attack Taiwan and the US got involved (together with the US military alliance) it is the end of the CCP. The US still have plenty of traditional allies (despite Trump’s rhetoric) while China has none to speak of. A high ranking retired Chinese general pretty much publicly says attacking Taiwan will not bring prosperity to China, it will only provoke the US (recently even both democrats and republicans have drawn the line at Taiwan especially after the national security law being imposed on HK). I agree with Premier Li Keqiang. Xi needs to prioritize taking care of the 600 million poor people in China instead of waging pointless war with Taiwan and India in order to preserve regime stability. The recent flooding really caused massive damage in China. Famine and food shortages will be next. The total damage is estimated at $20 billion dollars but the Xi government has only doled out less than $100M for repairs and reconstruction. The poor villagers in Anhui are pretty much left on their own after the CCP intentionally flooded the poor province in order to spare other more wealthy cities and provinces from damage.
