  1. To put into context Delta variant had less than 10 mutations and 2 protein spikes, Omicron variant had 50 mutations and over 30 protein spikes. Protein spikes is how the virus penetrates a healthy cell. In RPG terms, Delta would be level 10 Dungeon boss, Omicron would be a level 50 Raid boss. According to preliminary reports this virus variant became dominant in a matter of days or weeks instead of the normal months it took for other variants.
