  1. True. China is an overwhelmingly patriarchal society. Feminism while is growing in China is still small and powerless. Out of the 25 members of the politburo standing committee (the highest ruling party officials in China) only 2 are women. Women are still seen as weak in the world of Chinese politics. For women to reach the top of the political circles she must truly be the queen shark among sharks. Also there is unfair treatment of public officials between men and women. When a male public official reaches the age of 60 he is encourage to retire however if it is female that age is 50. The entire CCP is comprise of 91 million members (only 25 million members are women).
