  1. The funniest video I saw was when they were PCR testing fishes in the market — the PRC government is insane. Food security issues has always been the biggest fear in PRC collective psyche. The people can tolerate almost anything except hunger due to the terrible collective memories from the great famine era of Mao but all of these are self inflicted and could have been avoided.

  2.  @fantasy9917  True. In a totalitarian society where the government controls all flow of information the government bureaucrats themselves may become the biggest victims of that censorship. Especially in a strong man autocracy where the leader is especially hostile to negative news like Xi. Basically their censorship bubble is so thick they may start to believe in their own lies and this leads to severe missteps since nobody is giving honest feedback or contradicting information than the narrative put out by those in charge. For example the coal shortage last year -- from what I heard it started in August 2021 but Xi didn't became aware of it until the end of October 2021 because nobody dares to bring him the bad news until the situation has become dire.
