Scholz: “I don’t want to say this out loud but we need Russian oil more than we need Ukraine.”
216
A shame. As a fledging democracy I think Ukraine should be supported not spurned.
27
@rogerburn5132 whenever you say American puppets you lose all credibility. Are you a Putin puppet then? Are you denying the ability of Ukrainians to decide for themselves what they want?
26
It's not capitalism that failed. It's the lack of transparency and oversight. They hid their bad debts thru shadow banking. Also $300B isn't even accounting in the shadow banking debts.
18
@vijaykumarnadaraja531 i said support Ukraine not fight Russia. Ukraine is not a NATO member. However, that's not the point. A unified NATO condemnation would make even Putin think twice about doing whatever he wanted.
16
Despite the regime calling them terrorists, it’s the people of Kazakhstan protesting the autocratic regime. Despite being a gas and oil exporter the Kazakhs are very poor because most of the wealth are hoarded by the regime elites. Kazakhstan’s biggest companies are owned by the sons and daughters and associates of Nazarbayev/Tokayev. This social and civil unrest is caused by massive income inequality and autocracy and the Kazakhs had enough of it.

@rogerburn5132 Burisma is a false conspiracy theory orchestrated by Trump and pro-Russia disinformation groups that has been circulating around since 2014.
8
@rogerburn5132 Again... Read very careful. It has been debunk multiple times. I know Burisma is a real company. But the conspiracy has been debunked. It's a lie.

Same problem in France as with the US. Racism is a huge issue. But the issue in France is a lot worse because the issue was ignored for decades. At least in the US, there is public awareness of race relations issues.
4
@babox8244 Yeah now I know his true neoliberal face. Neoliberalism is weakness.
3
The CCP’s human rights atrocities can no longer be ignored nor should the world ignore it.
3
@X-cript lol the CCP never gives out anything and there are thousands of people who live on the streets in China. For all it's boast being communist and socialist, the CCP only uses the country's wealth for its party cadres not for its people. Just look at the mansions of the party cadres versus the beaten down slums of most people in central China. 600 million people still make less than 1000 RMB per month that's less than $150 USD per month. The CCP is socialist in name only it's a lying fascist regime that preys on the Chinese people.
3
Actually the US can do a lot more to hurt Russia/Putin. By banning Russia from the SWIFT system would tank Russian economy as they would not be able to sell their oil/gas to the global market. War is a very expensive endeavor and without revenues from gas/oil Russia would become bankrupt from waging war with Ukraine. Biden is right not to put troops on the ground, this will encourage Putin to back down. By putting troops, it would just drag the US to yet another endless pointless war. Ukraine isn’t some weak country, it is fully capable of defending itself given NATO/EU/US support.
3
I used to look at Trudeau with respect but he has proven to be weak. I hope Canada elect a stronger leader that dares stand up to the CCP.
2
@sizanogreen Germany is the biggest economy in EU now that UK has exited the EU. I think the rest of EU will follow whatever Germany does.
2
CCP’s definition of “equality” is the rich owns everything while the poor dies in silence. Ironically being a “communist” country, China has one of the largest income inequalities in the world even worst than “capitalist” countries like the United States.
2
Taiwan is so important to Xi's political calculations because Xi's policies has been a failure. His regime has chaos, slowing economy, trade war, worsening global reputation, internal strife, COVID pandemic, global emnity, endless internal calamity both man made and natural, tightening censorship and totalitarianism, hopelessness and joblessness in China. There are even rumors of an assassination attempt on Xi making him very paranoid now and feeling cornered. Almost everything Xi does is a failure. He needs to annex Taiwan for a win. He is desperate for a political win.
2
@jivkotodorov84 Ukraine has a lot of problem but it is a fledging semi-democracy. It has the chance to better the lives of its people once it is allowed to be developed. Does corruption exist in the Ukrainian government ? Of course it exist, but things can get better in the future as the Ukrainians are allowed to decide their own future. Many countries were dictatorships before but due to liberalization of society and politics it became a democracy like Taiwan (during the 1950-1990 Taiwan was a military dictatorship until it became a liberal democracy). The goal is to allow Ukraine the same chance as Taiwan.
2
NEWS FLASH: Putin turns out to be NATO's biggest promoter. 🤣🤣🤣
2
There is no future in the PRC market. The future is in Southeast Asia.
2
Ukraine should be armed with more and longer ranged weaponry. Make Putin feel pain and fear.
2
Scholz is the weak link and Russia and China knows it.
2
Nothing new. Putin's Russia has been doing this for over 30 years. Putin's Russia is an evil autocratic dictatorship.
2
I agree. These are the final years of Putin’s time on Earth. Simple fact is young Russian soldiers are being conscripted and being sent to their deaths in Ukraine on a pointless war when Russia's demographic is already collapsing. The Russian people are going to realize this is all for nothing. Ukraine will win in the end and tens of thousands of Russian soldiers would have died for nothing. What do you think will happen if the families of those 60-80,000 Russian soldiers realized their sons and daughters died for nothing carrying out Putin's idiotic agenda? Just like in a shark tank, any hint of blood even from the biggest shark will trigger a feeding frenzy from all the other smaller sharks. Putin will die from blood loss from a thousand cuts or bites.
2
Germany relied too much on China and got screwed for it.
2
Putin is evil. I hope one day the free people of Russia would get rid of Putin and reform Russia into a free peaceful and democratic country.
1
Yes no foreigner are allowed to enslave the Chinese people only the CCP regime is allowed to do that.
1
Putin is a global terrorist. Now he is trying to starve the world and Ukraine.
1
This is why I have no always on always connected devices in my home. Anything connected to the internet especially IoT devices can be weaponized or hacked.
1
This is great!!! Good job people of Georgia!!! EU = have a future. Russia = dead man walking.
1
No money = no baby
1
Trump is too weak to stand up to Putin.
1
Lol the US is the #1 donor of aid to Syria but keep siding with ISIL and Al Qaida.
1
@lvjinbin28 LOL “China is still a developing country” when the situation calls for and “China is already developed” when the argument requires it. 🤣🤣🤣
1
Stocks of Sinic Holdings (another Chinese real estate company) just collapsed today by 87%. Trading halted.
1
The west is now totally fed up with Xi and the CCP’s bullying tactics. Time to lay some smackdown. I’m so glad Germany is now standing up to the CCP. The CCP under Xi doesn’t want dialogue it wants servitude/capitulation of the west. Everything this guy is saying is straight up CCP party line. It’s like reading from a script.
1
Buildings can be destroyed but as long as Ukraine doesn't give up hope everything will be rebuilt brand new. Billions in EU, UK and US money will come pouring in once Russia loses and Putin is put at the gallows. Ukraine will come back stronger than ever. Does the Chinese wants a piece of the Ukrainian economic pie? Of course they do but they need to play by the rules just like anyone else.
1
Yep autonomous killing machine will be the future. China, Russia, US, India and other great powers has refused to sign an agreement to ban autonomous weapons of war. Huge chance these weapons destroys the human race. Swarm Ai autonomous weapons are all the rage now. These weapons are very cheap to produce and are highly effective and deadly. What could happen is the human race could be wiped off the face of the Earth and these AI systems would still continue to try to win a war but without any humans left to tell them to stop.
1
Putin's days are numbered.
1
Change thru trade obviously didn't work on China because the CCP always needs an external enemy in order for it to exist.
1
@davidnoelfranks1124 PRC is threatening Taiwan just for daring to exist.
1
Xi has an ambition to conquer the world.
1
Lol the CCP can never be trusted. They always say one thing and do another.
1
Kissinger is a traitorous war criminal. By enabling and empowering the CCP it created the US own biggest enemy. The CCP is incorrigible.
1
Taiwan is model of what a Chinese society would look like if given democracy freedom and the rule of law. The CCP wants to snuff Taiwan out because each day Taiwan exist makes the CCP looks worst and worst to its own people. The PRC is basically a massive prison state of the CCP where 1.2 billion Chinese are held as prisoners for life and many PRC Chinese are starting to realize that.
1
Ironically it was the CCP regime that plunged China into devastating famine and economic collapse during the 1960s. Make no mistake, China is getting rich thru the hard work of the Chinese people but most of the wealth are in the hands of the CCP cadres. Income inequality is even worst in China than in the US. The CCP isn‘t liberalizing, in fact it is tranforming into a high tech totalitarian fascist dystopian dictatorship.
1
Rudd is one of those CCP apologist that completely sold out to the CCP for $$$. Beware there a lot of those in Australia peddling PRC/CCP narrative to the Australian people.
1
This is the consequences of excessive debt trap.
1
I hope Twitter/X goes bankrupt and Elon Musk loses billions of dollars. 🤣🤣🤣

It's easy to dismiss him as just another China pessimist but he is right on several points. First is, China cannot enact change without an outside stimulus. Second, the actions of outside forces (aka US, allied forces, Taiwan, etc.) can trigger changes in China only if the conditions are ripe. Pro-democracy forces inside China are there, but they cannot yet act. However if the condition is right then they will be able to act to oust Xi from power and transition China into a democracy or at least Singaporean style hybrid liberal/authoritarian system. If you are a China watcher, the next year (2022) will be critical for Xi. If China's economy, global reputation and foreign affairs continue to degrade then Xi could be deposed. Public sentiment can rapidly turn at a moment's notice. This is why Xi is very fearful. By abolishing term limits in 2015, Xi has created for himself a lot of enemies inside the CCP itself. Many younger CCP politicians are ambitious themselves and Xi blocking their way to advancement has earned their ire.
1
@The Professional Just someone that has been analyzing politics in China for a very long time. By trying to monopolize absolute power on himself Xi inevitably screwed himself which is ironic. The more power he tried to monopolize, the more destabilized the CCP system becomes.
1
@The Professional You can insult me as much as you want. Still doesn't change the fact China is screwed with Xi driving the country into the abyss. Evergrande is just the first, the rest will follow. Bank run is coming. My advice for other readers, get your money out of China while you still can.
1
@The Professional yeah that's exactly what Xi should do. Close it all down. 😁😁😁
1
What Common poverty looks like. 🤣🤣🤣
1
@bobroberts2371 income inequality is one. Poverty, Ignorance, Political division, Etc.
1
@bobroberts2371 the people protesting aren't there recently, they are descendants of the millions of slaves imported by France during the slave eras. Most of them are French citizens for a very long time although they are in the minority. It is estimated France imported over 1.4 million slaves from Africa before slavery was abolished.
1
No Taiwanese would want annexation by the PRC especially with the clusterf*** we are seeing in Shanghai.
1
200 million people are jobless in China, is Africa going to give them jobs? 🤣🤣🤣
1
Taiwan is a country.
1
Shhhh don't let more people know the Russian army is absolutely garbage.
1
Will be funny when Twitter/X goes bankrupt and Elon Musk loses billions. 🤣🤣🤣
