  21. Very interesting. I was researching communism and all communist regime around the world has one thing in common — the idea that the state has the right to inflict violence and death upon the population in order to fulfill whatever grand goals the state is aiming for. Going back to the originator of communism/maxism — Karl Marx, he himself never abandon the idea of using violence as a political weapon. In fact from his writing he encourages using whatever is necessary to oppose the bourgeoisie/capitalists (including using violence and lies) to bludgeon society into obedience in order to achieve a national goal and create his communist utopia/dystopia. This is what turned me off Marxism. If you think about it, Marxism is a very attractive idea (a world where everyone is equal and there are no social classes) however in order achieve that necessitates the death and destruction of the bourgeoisie (elites, capitalists, etc.) and in order to achieve that destruction necessitates the application of violence, death and lies on the elites. There is no such thing as a non-violent communist struggle as communism runs against human nature (human society tends to be selfish and greedy because our society and human progress are built upon constant competition for survival). Note: I’m not saying communism is entirely wrong or unethical but it depends on your personal perception on what is “right”. Is it right to be wealthy and provide for your family or is it right to want a more equal society where there are no excessively wealthy individuals ? I think a lot of people can agree the right answer is somewhere in the middle.
