  1.  @ChanaElisheva  In Mexico, the minimum for residency is $1600/ month so that won't work. You are correct that Mexico is a difficult to become a citizen. Nicaragua you will need to relinquish your citizenship and they don't allow dual citizenship. To maintain residency in Nicaragua you need to live in the country 6 months of the year. Ecuador is worse you have to reside in the country 9 months of the year. Another charming aspect of Ecuador is that if you want to leave the country for any trip, you have to pay 5% of the money ( your money) you withdraw from and give it to the country. Not sure what their position of dual residency is. Costa Rica if you have social security is fine, you will need to contribute to the medical system there. The medical care and economy in general is better in Panama.

  3.  Fareed Waseem  Thank you for your kind words regarding the USA. Yes, the legal profession is a mixed bag at best, I'm working with a great immigration attorney at present but there are many poor examples in that profession. The more money that can be made, the poorer the choices.

  4. Debbie, you don't qualify for Mexican residency, I believe you have to show $1600 month for residency. Panama is a better choice. If you are looking for residency, the Pensionado is clear cut, you get 25% off flights, 30% off hotels, restaurants, 30% off loans etc. All you as a single woman need to show is $1,000 of social security income per month and $250 for each dependent.
