@vernonhampton6973 One of the things about the German system is that one at an early age around 12, I believe, one has to pick their path if they are going on to college or a trade. At that point, they go to different schools. There is none of this, I need to find myself thing that has permeated culture in the USA for so long. If anyone wants to go to college and be an engineer, get a school loan and when you get out of school you'll be making over 100k and pay it back. No, you don't need to go to Stanford or Harvard, there are lots of public universities where you total education will be 50k, then pay the loan back. No biggie. The problem is that when people go to college to study fields that they can never make any money at.
