@ishouldbeonmountrushmore1334 I'm going back a long time here, but here is my family story of Malaysia. I had a cousin visiting there, there was this beautiful car in front of him ( he was a young college student on motorcycle) and he didn't realize it had a small insignia on license plate to indicate one of the ruling families, anyway all he did was just pass the vehicle. He was picked up, thrown in jail, and no one knew where he was for 2 weeks. He was unharmed in jail, however, this tells one about their personal rights there.

Not being disrespectful to housecleaners, they serve an important function but what kind of license do they have to have to clean houses? A property manager in most countries is a Realtor, they have to be bonded.

@cryptocrusader6078 Those numbers get bigger and bigger. The real stats were 20 mil, now the numbers grow like weeds. No one closed down businesses back then.

Ecuador has a number of issues, however, one can live there cheaply. Understand that any money you have in a bank there, if you leave the country, they get to keep 5% of your money becomes theirs. If you own a business, it's pretty onerous to hire people. Check it out, you'll be surprised.
