  1. the weird thing is, almost all "stories" are based upon true events. fiction is often, blatantly, based on real events and many non-fiction writings contain errors, some even intentional. also, there's the argument that if we can imagine it, then its possible. so, considering the number of people who've lived and events that occurred, 99% of which were never recorded in history books, its pretty near impossible to write about ANYTHING that doesn't at least resemble some unknown real person or unrecorded event. you take an event or person, exagerate it, the next generation exagerates it, and so on. you keep the generalities, throw away the specifics, or vice versa, voila, you have history.
