as a non-veteran i agree with you. in the movie "enemy of the state" which stars gene hackman, jon voight and will smith, hackman says an interesting thing. he says any technology you see used in a movie or on tv is about 10 years behind the reality of the capability of that technology. for some odd reason i tend to believe that statement! the profit motive is the reason for these oppressive, intrusive, overpriced monstrosities. even the "scientific" ones. if rich people didn't make money from them they wouldn't be built. ever notice how NOTHING gets done in the world unless the rich get richer from it? its why pollution, wars and poverty exists. they own everything. they control everything. they make all decisions for the rest of humanity. and humanity is kept blind, apathetic and stupid enough to let them do it.

@enndubful .... unfortunately that's just a lie created and spread by the fascists who benefit from the profit motive. economy's that result in corruption, slavery, war, polution and poverty aren't "successful" at all. they're huge failures where 90% of people suffer while the ruling elite live in opulance that most of us can't even comprehend.

@S4NSE ... i know what you mean. my comments often disappear or fail to post. you know the kicker? when tech company's make technology available to the public its way over priced and the price goes down only when new, overpriced technology takes its place. and we all should know how its standard corporarte practice to pay people to keep their "innovations and advancements" off the market because they interfere with established corporate profits. but there's undoubtedly advanced, secret police-state technology in use that's being kept from public view. if you knew everything your cellphone actually does to spy on and track you people just might be a little more hesitant to purchace it. but probably not. the global consumer is a mindless, brainwashed corporate created idiot.

@jeolman1 ... sounds good to me. but don't exclude the corporations. its the corporations who own the military and the govt. its the corporations creating all this police-state technology. nothing gets done without corporate approval. we've never actually been ruled by govt. we're ruled by corporations and the elite who own them.

@largemarge1603 ... i understand movies aren't totally accurate in their depictions. but i do know a true and plauisible statement when i hear one. if you think our corporate rulers are honest with humanity's best interest at heart and inform the public of the TRUE use and power of the technoloigfy they produce - THINK AGAIN! quit being so gullible and naive. we live in a corpotate POLICE-STATE and its damned time humanity accept this fact!

the reality is ufo's really do exist. they're all over the place. but they aren't "aliens." or at least not likely to be. i think humanity has become inflicted with "overreaction disease." we make massive issues out of nothing. we draw paranoid conclusions without evidence. we thrive on fanatasy and wishful thinking. in other words - we need to grow the hell up! and changing "ufo" to "uap" ain't gonna make theat happen.
