here's my theory. we live in a multi-dimensional reality. these dimensions beyond the 4 we perceive in our everyday existence are imperceptible to us because nature didn't design us to perceive these extra dimensions. we're designed by nature to perceive only 3 physical dimensions and the illusion of time. its possible, that if these extra-dimensions do exist, any beings living in them can perceive us but we can't perceive them. but its also possible they are just as oblivious to our existence as we are to theirs. simply put, our observable reality consists of 3 physical dimensions and nature designed us with sensory and physical limitations to perceive anything other than our own dimensions. so, we're surrounded by multiple dimensions we're just physically ill equipped to observe or experience them.

@area51z63 ... the world, the universe and reality are, indeed, interesting and confounding things to ponder. i agree, there's billions of years left in the universe but i doubt seriously that any human will be around that long to ponder or explore anything. humanity seems to have the sad propensity to destroy everything it touches. i think maybe the universe is better off without us.

@MrHominid2U ... in my theory the higher dimensions contain a completely different kind of matter suited for that dimension. even the beings within the dimension contain senses inconceivable in our dimension. we can't even imagine such a place but their physically world is tailored for that dimension like our physical world is tailored to our dimension. even laws of gravity would differ because higher dimensions possess more spatial directions.
