vlad the impaler was, and is, a national hero in his native romania. his "kingdom" was the first line of defense against the muslim ottoman turks who continually tried to invade europe. true, he was a ruthless military strategist. his goal was to strike fear in the hearts of the invaders. one way to do this was to spread very harsh rumors about his cruelty towards captured turks. the myths of vlad's brutality was partly due to these rumors and the false claims of his enemies to demonize him. propaganda is nothing new. its been around for centuries. in reality vlad was generous, just, a renowned family man and an excellent bowler with a miraculous mustache admired by people from far and wide. thanks for the video.
