i did it with my name. its not spelled "mack" but "macq." and, no, the "q" isn't silent. the q in macq is no more silent than the k in mack.

@milanstevic8424 ... it would make my brain shudder too. you have it written with a "k" and a "q." a little redundant i'm afraid. thanks but i think i'll stick with my spelling. a lot of people use the word "mac" or "mack." i'm the only one to spell it "macq."

@zibbitybibbitybop ... ya, that's a lot of "k" sounds alright. the spelling looks a little french or even czech to me. (why is there a "z" in czech?) in my case i've used this spelling as a pen/professional name since i was 12. i just thought the "q" would give the name a distinction.

@kijete ... actually i use the "q" as a substitute for the "k." so, its not silent.

@kijete ... that's better.

i would say these scholars were pretty "dumb.'

you know what's really weird? sometimes these words can be pronounced differently with the same spelling. take the word "dumb." the "b" is silent. but in the word "dumbo" the "b" is pronounced. if we switched to a phonetic spelling of words then the word "dumbo" wouldn't make any sense. a lot of words would no longer make any sense. why does spanish use an upside down question mark at the beggining of questions. i guess all languages contain their own inconsistencies and oddities.

@aylen7062 ... are you spanish, mexican or from another spanish speaking country? do they all follow the same rules of formality and informality? why would you forgo capital letters? i don't use capitalization in youtube comments as a chosen writing style. but in every other instance i do. (my name, though, is always spelled in lower case. its a symbolic representation of my anti-elitism. if you spell it with capitals its being mispelled. you've no idea how people resist this.) also, i thought accent marks were quite essential in foreign languages. uummm, the things you learn in youtube comments sections. when youtube isn't busy censoring them.
