  2. i remember when i was a pre-teen i found a small, helpless, abandoned baby bird on the ground near my house. i took it home and put it in the garage to nurse it back to health. i came home after school the next and heard the bird chirping in the trash can! my dad found it and just threw it away and wouldn't let me care for it. i lost some respect for my dad on that day. generally speaking he was a pretty damned good dad. but sometimes he could do the stupidest things.
