Nehimöller was describing exactly what happens under fascist regimes. he so eloquently exposed this reality so it would never happen again. sad that, here it is, happening again. i think humanity's failure to learn from the past, thus repeating its flaws and injustices in perpetuity, is a mental disease. i call it "paranoid gullibility." we're taught from birth to reject and ignore the past. that it doesn't apply to our uniquely, modern times. its just all BS!
