you have to remember that no one who wrote the "gospels" or the gnostic books actually knew or met jesus or the apostles. the writers didn't even sign their own names to these writings. they were simply attributing to "jesus" religious thoughts, ideas and theories that've often been taught or believed for centuries. there's an obvious link to judaism, buddhism, hinduism, Zoroastrianism and even atheism. the ideas of a messiah, love they neighbor or hatred towards non-believers weren't new. jesus and his disciples may not've even existed. he just may be a mythical representation of an idea. and many writers throughout the ages just added their own thoughts and conceptions to this idea. no different than how the myths of "robin hood" and "king arthur" were created and added to over the centuries.

@mahatmarandy5977 ... first off, historians don't universally agree that jesus was a historical figure. there's no mention of him in jewish, roman or greek historical texts. but "jesus" was a popular name. the only historical reference to "jesus the miracle woirker" is in christian mythology. and much of the teachings of jesus is found in earlier religions. for instance the buddhist teaching of universal love. what i find most reprehensible of many christian philosophers is their claim that believing jesus is god is all that's needed to get into heaven. following his teachings or living as he lived is completely disregarded as the path righteousness. i live my life more like jesus did than any christian i ever met. and i'm not even a christian.

@you457wx7 ... you realize mathew, mark, luke and john didn't actually write the "books" associated with their names, right? no one knows who wrote those books or the gnostic books. no one knows who wrote "revelations." paul is the first historical "christian" figure to actually appear in the new testiment. and he never met jesus either. the life of jesus is like the myth of "king arthur." some unknown person invented the original story and others added to it through the centuries. the life of jesus, even if its based on a real person, is an allegory, a metaphor. its a story who's true message has been ignored, twisted and corrupted to advocate the most vile and horendous acts in history. for instance: i'm no christian but i live my life more in line with the teachings of jesus than any christian i ever met. go figure.

@you457wx7 ... you understand the problem with using the same source to confirm that source. you can't use the bible to confirm the bible. confirmation must come from third-party, outside sources. so you never knew the writers of the new testiment didn't know jesus personally? that they were written 30 years or more after his supoosed death? well, now you know.

@davidlafleche1142 ... if that were true then why are there so many inconsistencies and contradictions in the bible? why does god allow so many liars, profiteers, warmongers and false prophets to corrupt and misrepresent his "word." why are so many "religious" people completely incapable of differentiating between the divine word of god and the corrupt motives of vile gangsters seeking self-aggrandizement and personal wealth and power? lastly, why respond to my comment? other comments on this thread and video say the same thing as me. why single my comment out?
