@hecticway ... no, its "honor among thieves." it means criminals won't commit crimes against each other and won't betray each other to the police. it implies that even criminals have an honor code that they're supposed to abide by. of course its nonsense. criminals prey on the most defensless. there's no honor in that. predators have no honor.

"honor among thieves" is what capitalism is all about. its the same sentiment as "power protects power." thieves protect thieves. the corrupt protect the corrupt. and idiots protect idiots. so, there's honor among idiots too. "no honor among thieves" makes no sense. its already a given. that there's "honor among thieves" is something most people don't realize. so the phrase was created to suggest it. and, like i said, its not a truism but an oxymoron. how can there be honor among the dishonorable? there can't be. its a contradiction of terms.

@tiffbeevachou108 ... i saw a yt video the other day about people misusing common words and phrases. like "i could care less" actually should be "i couldn't care less." seems "no honor among thieves" is one of those phrases people commonly use incorrectly. the actual phrase is - there's honor among thieves.
