the fact that this took 4 YEARS is just another indication of just how corrupt our legal system is. you and i, when we want to dispute (appeal) a court finding, we do it from prison or while the lower court decision takes effect. the rich? when they dispute court rulings they do it from the comfort of their own mansions. the lower court actions are put on hold and the entire legal process comes to an abrupt halt. ISN'T CAPITALISM GREAT?

@georgea2334 ...actually you bring up a good point. if they do decide to release trump's taxes to the public, as they should, they'll only be fullfilling what trump promised to do for years! trump committed FRAUD by claiming he'd release his taxes and never doing it. how is forcing someone to keep their word a crime? its contract law 101. a public promise is INDEED a contract. of course we all know trump doesn't honor contracts. and its damned time someone forced him to do so!

@annsmith185 ... you betcha. trump's a career criminal. there's a lot of hidden crimes in his closet. when trump was in the white house china issued ivanka about 100 exclusive trademarks and patents. and let's not forget the emoluments clause. do his taxes show how much money he made off of foreign dignitaries staying at his properties to incure favor? or how much money he makes overcharging the secret service for their room and board? all of these crimes we already know occured. will his taxes reflect these scams? what new scams will come to light?

@paperthyme .... definately. the GOP congress members knew he's guilty but kept giving excuses not to convict. remember the classic line after his first impeachment? "trump learned his lesson." trump NEVER learns his lessons. why should he? he keeps getting away with EVERY CRIME he's ever committed.

personally, i think one of trump's biggest fears is that we'll discover he's been lying about his personal wealth all these decades. he's not really a billionaire. and the public finding out that reality i think is trump's major fear. also, being rich, a billionaire or not, and paying only hundreds of dollars in taxes is something he wants kept hidden too. the only way that would be legal is if he isn't as rich as he claims or that he lost more money than he made all those years.
