american "libertarians" aren't real libertarians. the so-called libertarian party was created after ww2 by a bunch of rich, elitist businessmen, who stole the moniker "libertarian" from socialists who called themselves libertarians because socialism liberated humanity from the shackles of capitalism. that's where the word libertarian comes from. these fascist, anti-democratic businessmen don't want smaller govt. the want less, or no, govt regulations interfeing with their unfettered pursuit of business profits. they want a govt/corporate symbiosis. a govt that will enforce the corporate will. could be said the libertarian party was the first example of american astro-turfing. as it committed fraud misrepresenting itself to the public as these rich elitist try to break unions, denounce minimum wage, deny worker benefits like company paid medical insurance and reject environmental protections all to increase their already insanely high profit margins.
