ashley, my friend, i just read a bunch of your comments and i must say, i'm quite impressed. you demonstrate much insight and maturity. i hate to say it but you remind me of... me! there's a song by the bonzo dog doo-dah band called - "no matter who you vote for the govt always gets in." it reflects your and my sentiments. check it out. i think you'll like it.

people don't realize, not even the dems, that sanders actually won the 2016 presidency. if you factor in all the corruption in that election. sanders won the dem nomination. but they rigged their primaries in support of clinton. sanders beat clinton. in reality, clinton beat trump. which means sanders would've beat trump by even a wider margin. trump was never "elected" to anything and that's just a fact! its the corporate elite who cause inflation. if you want to stop inflation, of course you have to bribe them. its called capitalism. i sure like sanders. i just wish he were 20, 30 years younger.

@will-ob7pr ... social democracy and democratic socialism are two different things. a social democrat is just a liberal; a capitalist. they basically believe capitalism can function best with govt programs to counter capitalism's greed. they still believe the wealthy should rule and posses all their privileges but that the govt has a role to help the lower classes. a democratic socialist seeks to achieve socialism through democratic means. as opposed to violent revolution. they seek social equality and want the govt to stop using public funds to make the rich richer. once achieved ALL socialism is democratic. socialism is economic democracy and democracy is political socialism. democracy CAN'T exist without socialism and vice versa. while capitalism is economic fascism and fascism is political capitalism. the one can't exist without the other. its rule through an elite that make the decisions for the rest of society.

@lorimalloy5706 ... i agree. sanders seems to be fighting this corrupt system all on his own. i know how hard that can be because i've been doing it for 45 years. neither of us have had much success. bernie's pretty rich you know. he needs to be using some of that money on national conferences designed to unite the people under a common goal. like the GOP does with its CPAC crap. sanders could initiate workshops and training programs to teach the next generation of socialists. why doesn't he? socialism itself needs to evolve and grow. its stuck in the 19th century and the 1970s. its been taken over by the wrong people. rich people who're just as fascist, prejudiced and delusional as the people they claim to be against. which is why i left the left and founded the philosphy of "equalism." equalism brings socialism into the 21st century.

(although the soviets came close until stalin declared himself dictator.) they displayed fascist, not socialist characteristics. putin, trump, xi, abbott and desantis are the embodiment of stalin and mao not lenin or marx.
