how about the game of "risk." a game based on war, colonialism and world domination. I LOVE THAT GAME! now you can't even find digital versions of the game. actually there's quite a few mistakes in trivial pursuit. often, while playing the game, i would reach for the encyclopedia britannica to prove the game wrong. as a child i used to read the encyclopedia from beginning to end for fun. sadly, capitalist society little admires or rewards intelligence. go figure.

i was watching an old "documentary" today from 1970 called "chariots of the gods." its one of the first films i know of that deals with the 'theory" of ancient astronauts. in the film i noticed a pattern among ancient beliefs throughout the world and history. that pattern is - culture after culture has myths that some god, usually coming from the sky, bestowed upon their people the beginnings of culture. farming, a moral code, law, making pottery, music, tools, writing and even language were all gifts from these gods. i'm not saying these gods were ancient astronauts but i find it curious that none of these myths give a human credit for these cultural advancements. seems these original stories similar to "jack and the beanstalk" throughout history represents the same origin myths. the vikings, mayans, greeks, romans, incas and hindus all give some god credit for gifting humanity with culture. i just find that pattern really odd. thanks for the video.

how about the "crack" game. "step on a crack break your mother's back." there's more to the rhyme but i forgot the rest of it. does that game have "sinister" origins? as an american i always considered myself rather informed on british history but i know nothing about simon de montfort. he sounds like a predecessor to oliver cromwell. seems to me ole simon was a strict supporter of the magna carta which was signed just a few years before his birth. why does it always seem tyrants are replaced by other tyrants? that's where the american 1776 revolution was so unique. george washington, our first president, was offered a kingship but declined the offer. HE STUCK TO HIS PRINCIPLES and the principles of democracy. now we have TRUMP! a worse tyrant than george lll ever dreamed of being. seems the more things change the more they stay the same. is humanity destined to repeat its mistakes in perpetuity? thanks for the video. i'll watch your video on board games next!

actually there's quite a few mistakes in trivial pursuit. often, while playing the game, i would reach for the encyclopedia britannica to prove the game wrong. all the trivial pursuit "inventors" had to do was contact fred l. worth and ask for permission to use his book. maybe offer a single payment or 5% of the profits for the first year. they could've settled out of court and offered mr. worth something for use of his book and even give his book written credit in the instructions. but they had to be greedy a-holes about it.

the scary part is that myth, legends and superstition still abound in the 21st century. many of these superstitions have been updated to reflect today's modern technology like the "mandella effect," ufo's and "simulation theory" nonsense. where weird things in the past were often attributed to the "supernatural" they're now attributed to "science fiction" based absurdities. sad how even in these so-called "enlightened" times people remain gullible as hell and willing to believe almost ANYTHING! thanks for the well written and well researched video.
