santos isn't the problem. he's a symptom of the problem. the problem is a complete abandonment and break-down of ethics, good faith, common sense and common decency being embraced by the leadership of BOTH PARTIES and both sides for political purposes. "the end justifies the means" is the new political rationalisation for expediency over ethics.

... i see people saying "not the democrats!" well, the GOP says the same thing. "its not us - ITS THEM!" as long as we continue to place all blame on the other side and never accept our own culpabilty in society's demise things will never improve. we desperately need serious and objective self reflection. i, for one, recognize the fascism coming from BOTH SIDES and i'm not afraid to expose it AND DENOUNCE IT!

@The_General_Zubas ... you know the whole point of creating a "lobby-based" political system was to make politicians more honest. it was to end all the secret backroom deals that were poisoning the political process. but in practice it hasn't changed anything. politics is just as corrupt as it ever was. maybe even more so. my position is - take money out of politics and you remove the motive for corruption. or at least reduce it. money, more than ethics, principle or the common good, determins our politics. and that's not a good thing.
