i always thought da vinci was one of the most gifted and brilliant people to have ever lived. but he had one MAJOR flaw! he and michelangelo designed machines for military applications. they were WAR MONGERS! this is how they made their living. you think they maintained their lifestyles painting pictures and making sculptures? no, the bulk of their income came from their military designs. they were war profiteers. shameless opportunists to the highest degree. so sad.

@scottpreston5074 ... ya, things cycle but they never move forward. we're in a perpetual loop of 3 steps forward and three steps back. perpetual conflict seems to be built into the system. well, i'm tired of this system; living on perpetual hope only to be disappointed and betrayed again and again. there has never been a revolution that's brought us out of this loop. at best, we just replace one corrupt system with another or replace one group of gangster rulers with another. i'm tired of playing this game. what i can't figure out is why no one else is!

@jamestracey5958 ... thanks for the kind affirmation. it is a rather pleasant voice indeed isn't it? its funny, or is it sad, that we can be seduced into believing almost anything by just the tone of the voice telling us things. but how do you explain people believing the whining, squeaking voice of trump? it boggles the mind.

@ ... i've been WORKING and FIGHTING for a "better tommorrow" for over 50 years. and i keep getting kicked in teeth by the ruling elite for all my efforts. and all the "love of the arts" and self-proclaimed artists have done nothing to help me or to stop the fascist take over of the world that's currently taking place. the arts are nothing but a part of the system of "bread and circuses" our rulers have put into place to placate and decieve humanity. science and the arts, like religion, have been taken over by some of the WORST people in human history. its all a scam and a sham! now tell me - what does "rinascimento" mean.

@elizabethhestevold1340 ... the thing about the renaissance is that we learned so much yet the power structure, to corrupt what we learned, remained intact. so what we learned just, basically, ended up perpetuating the elitism, greed and cruelty of the status quo. the renaissance isn't to blame. science isn't to blame. like you said, PEOPLE are to blame. but, unlike you, i don't place the blame on the non-elite. they had little power and fewer opportunities to do anything about this corruption. but i guess they can be blamed for their apathy and their continued conformity to and acceptance of an elite that cared not one iota about them. kinda like today uh?
