i think you're now placing too much blame on the aztecs for their own demise. i think there's enough blame to go around. this is what happens when two brutal and corrupt societies meet - misery, murder and genocide. the aztecs may have been in decline prior to the spanish arrival but superior weaponry and disease most certainly hastened the aztec downfall. now, the question is - why on earth are the contemporary "western" elite so intent upon hastening the downfall of western civilization? lets face it - humanity is ruled by the greedy, corrupt and insane. and humanity has allowed itself to be ruled by the worst people among us for 1000's of years.

@yoloswaggins7121 ... oh, alright i'll give you that one. perhaps a bit exaggerated. but nonetheless things are getting worse all over the world. the reality is western civilization is at no more risk than all the others. we're at the beginning of the end of civilization itself. it'll take a while, but with climate change, plastics and insecticides poisoning our food supply, millions of barrels of nuclear waste just waiting to be leaked and released, the corporate police-state being globally implemented, the rich getting richer while infrastructures crumble and poverty skyrockets and fascism on the rise everywhere on the planet, i'm afraid we ARE all screwed my friend! the youngest among us WILL bear witness to the downfall of human society. unless we make some VERY DRASTIC changes and VERY DAMNED soon its well on its way.

@yoloswaggins7121 ... thank you. i appreciate that. but these others aren't morons either. you might want to listen to them. the american infrastructure is near collapse. so is the american empire. we've allowed our precious "republic" to be taken over and corrupted by greedy predators with little respect for "democratic principles," the rule of law, human rights and common decency. all you need do is accept reality. and the reality is in last 40 years since reagan the elite have increased their wealth over 500% while wages have stagnated. the working poor and personal debt is skyrocketing, our life expectancy is decreasing and our mortality rate is increasing. we've been headed in the wrong direction for 40 years. and there's nothing out there that indicates anything is changing for the better any time soon.

@Bruh-ze3gp ... tell me about it. thanks for the advice. identity politics is killing us. its a form of "divide and conquer" that people still fall for. our oppressors use the divisions, they themselves create, to keep us fighting EACH OTHER so they maintain power over us all. i see fascism coming from BOTH sides now. and i, as anyone else, have an ethical obligation to expose this fascism whether people accept this reality or not. one commonality, among many, that the left and right share is there unquestioning embrace of the police-state being globally erected. you try to expose the dangers of this technology and you'll be ridiculed and attack by people on both sides. its very odd indeed. the left and right hate each other but they unite in excepting their slavery to invasive and overpriced corporate products. instead of uniting against the police-state - they unite in favor of it. James F ... we've ALL been conquered. we ALL have legitimate grievances against the insanity of this global, corporate take-over of the world. as for colonialism, i never understood the propensity to conquer rather than to trade. columbus wasn't looking for india to conquer it but to trade with it. what on earth turned this pursuit of trade into the practice of war, genocide and slavery? i think many countries have better overall systems than the u.s., Switzerland among them. but the u. s. oligarchs are way too paranoid and possessive to admit it. for over 200 hundreds the american elite have stressed ethnocentricity and xenophobia to isolate americans from the rest of humanity. the only way this will change is if americans ever decide to stand up to their oligarchs. and i don't see that happening any time soon.
