  1. there are a lot of good ww2 films. but 2 lesser known ones that are among my favorites are 1943's "Sahara" with an excellent cast that includes bogart and 2006's czech film "I Served The King Of England" which is about a lowly czech waiter during the german occupation and has no battle scenes whatsoever.
