i'm not a big fan of Neil DeGrasse Tyson but there's nothing wrong with this tweet except that it doesn't go far enough. he was just making a point and putting things in perspective and people do what they all too often do - OVERREACT and nit pick. we should instead take his "tweet" even further and ask - how many deaths due to denial of medical care? how many due to poverty alone? how many cries for help have gone ignored? people SCREAM for help just to be pushed aside and dehumanized as unimportant. I'M ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE! the U. S. keeps sinking ever deeper into the gutter through spineless apathy, inexcusable egocentrism, and mindless materialism. if we don't change the direction of this downward and damned soon the U. S. is looking at a complete breakdown of whatever social cohesion and sense of justice and ethics it has left.
