  1. there shouldn't be a "voting day" in this country but a voting month! who says voting has to be done all in one day? i don't like the voting drop off boxes though. if you have a month to vote you no longer have an excuse not to hand in your vote to an election official IN PERSON. personally, i'd never place my vote in a temporary drop box located on some curb.

  2. here's just one more problem we face with our ridiculously corrupt, prejudice-orientated u. s. legislative process - the unethical propensity to include unrelated additions and amendments to legislation. this is a scam perpetrated by both american parties. i can't count how many times "emergency" disaster legislation was held up over political pork and pet projects. they do this to get funding for frivolous projects that would otherwise be rejected. "hey," they say, "if you want this disaster relief to go through you gotta accept this funding for this bridge being erected in my district with my name on it!" the covid-relief bill had the same unethical approach. this is nothing but political blackmail. and it damned well better stop if we ever wish to achieve ANY LEVEL of true democracy in this country.
