yes, qualified immunity isn't based upon any theory of law. its a total privilege just made up by fascists to protect the fascists among the police ranks. its no different than "presidential immunity" in this respect. NO ONE in this country, or any democracy, is supposed to be above the law. the elite, the wealthy possess the same immunities. but those aren't codified and are enforced through an unwritten agreement. goes to show - WE AIN'T NO DEMOCRACY and never have been.

@cocomo5973 ... yes. but i heard 2 separate stories about that. the other story is that some capital police posed as allies and supporters of the traitors to distract them, pacify them and lead them away from the congressional chambers. but you're right. cops will very often sympathize with and secretly support far-right fanatics who "protest" using firearms and threats of violence. you ever hear of a police riot? police riots are caused by cops who instigate violence in otherwise peaceful protests. cops begin busting heads and when the protestors try to protect themselves from that violence the cops become even more violent claiming the protestors were unruly and unlawful. you NEVER see police riots during right-wing protests. in these cases the police do EVERYTHING to negotiate a peaceful conclusion to the satisfaction of the right-wing protestors. its a huge double standard that's become standard operating procedure among our corrupt and tainted law enforcement.

this is how it is on both sides. the leadership on both sides don't want solutions to these problems because these problems perpetuate the social divisions that keep them in power. why do you think both sides promote such absurdities and insanity all the time? (like the myths of "transgenderism" and "gun worship."?) these ridiculous non-issues WON'T EVER BE RESOLVED. their intended to be perpetual as long as the divisions they create keep the donation cash flow COMING IN! if it ever comes to pass that an issue no longer presents a problem then a NEW issue must be created to keep these divisions intact and profitable.

its been illegal, now, for some time for ANY govt employee not to report a crime that they've witnessed or become aware of. its an anti-corruption law. but this law IS NEVER enforced. what does that tell you about our elite's opinion on corruption? it tells you our rulers want corruption. they rely on it to get want they want. most of the laws in this country aren't enforced, especially against the rich that violate them. you ever notice how the crimes the rich commit are mostly defined as "civil" offenses? whereas the very same acts would put any of us in prison. that's due to corruption. the elite paid-off legislatures to make this happen. the rich have IMMUNITY from the very crimes that would result in our arrest, prosecution and conviction.

@barryguyer8174 ... i wouldn't count on it. as a general rule, cops will continue to cover up the crimes of other cops UNTIL we start giving badges to the RIGHT people rather than to corrupt people who think a badge means the law doesn't apply to them. i mean, there are cops and others out there right now who believe its acceptable to break the law in order to enforce it. that's the kind of warped, convoluted "logic" we're up against.

@barryguyer8174 ... look how long it took to reform marijuana laws. 70, 80 years? millions of people's lives were utterly ruined but pot remained illegal. the ONLY reason those laws are being reformed now is because the oligarchs discovered how to profit from it. remember, this is america. we're ruled by capitalism and under capitalism NOTHING GETS DONE unless the elite can profit from it. police corruption will continue because the elite profit from it. once justice and honesty become as profitable as corruption and fraud THEN, and only then will we see any real attempts at police reform.
