@lelandgregory5897 ... i appreciate your kind reply. my philosophy is called equalism. everything i write is a reflection of this philosophy. equalism reexamines and rejects many positions the right and left hold as dogma. and it tries to uncover the causes, both psychological and sociological, of what's been inflicting humanity for 1000's of years that's gotten us to this horrendous point in human history. for instance, why do people continue to believe not only corporate lies but the lies of their own "leadership" even after past lies have been uncovered and the detrimental effects of those lies have been demonstrated. in other words, i can't figure out why people continue to believe and do the same things over and over again even after its been shown these things have the opposite effect than what was initially intended.

@lelandgregory5897 ... on the contrary. you don't sound unintelligent to me at all. in fact, much of what you wrote was over my head. i find "stupidity" is actually very rare in humans. gullibilty is our problem. its the information we choose to believe, not our incapability of learning, that's our true problem. take the trump cult as an example. their acceptance of violence and fraud to achieve their goals is very disheartening. but most of these people are very smart, dedicated and sincere. but their paranoia has gotten the better of them. their willingness to believe not the facts but the lies their told is a human tendency. we all search for things that reinforce our own false beliefs. but there comes a time when we all have to STOP and re-examine our own prejudices based upon an overwhelming existance of contrary facts. its our gullibility not our stupidity that's the true threat.

(as fas as i can tell.) but there's a HUGE difference between benevolent and malevolent manipulation. you can manipulate people to do "good" things. and using kindness to manipulate people to do good things - is a good thing. machiavelli was no evil genius like his name sake so wrongly indicates. i mean, let's call it "hitlerism," or "stalinism?" they were worse than machiavelli and they ACTUALLY displayed symptoms of mental illness, paranoia, megalomania and sociopathy. my point is LET'S not over complicate things. its ridiculous. there's no reason to separate all these symptoms into different mental conditions. they all conclude in the same result! - human suffering and cruelty.

@lelandgregory5897 .... to equalism its obvious. humanity, as whole, is suffering from a MASS GROUP psychosis. the psychosis takes many forms. equalism identifies the results of the "milgram experiment" as an actual mental illness. equalism calls it the "milgram effect" where people are not only willing BUT EAGER to please anyone they percieve as holding a position of "authority." this authority is usually seen as anyone who pays them. people are willing to inflict any discomfort, any injustice and any pain on a fellow human being as long as they're told to do so by ANYONE who's authority they choose to recognize. this occurs in our day-to-day lives. our entire global social system functions through the milgram effect. our social institutions depend upon it. our religious, economic, political and military institutions depend on our unquestioning loyality to the "elite's" authority to rule us. even though this rule has led to 6000 years of poverty, war and genocide.
