  1. how do they get produce from s. africa to the u. s.? the question isn't how BUT WHY? why ship something halfway around the world when you can grow, build or manufacture it right next door? when it can be produced locally? that 5 ounce package of strawberries cost 3 cents to cultivate. thanks to packaging, transportation and refrigeration costs that price inflates to 3 bucks. capitalism, is the most inefficient and wasteful economic system ever devised!

  5.  @virginiamoss7045  ... your comment's been removed. did you remove it? why do people keep posting comments and then removing them? its cool to find someone who understands the colossal failures, shortcomings and waste of capitalism. waste creates huge profits for the corporations. they make more money on the packaging that we all throw away than the product they're selling. every nation on earth runs a capitalist economic system. its the cause of plastics infiltrating and poisoning the natural world, the cause of global pollution and climate change and the cause of poverty, slavery and human misery the world over. yet, we continue to allow capitalism to rule us. why?

  6.  @virginiamoss7045  ... on my end your comment to me is still gone! uh, that's weird. you see something on this thread i can't see. i wonder how many others experience this and not even know it. damn, i hate technology. its full of little and big scams and flaws that make our lives so much worse. but few people want to admit this reality. thanks for responding to me. without you telling me this, i'd never be aware of this absurdity. its just one more absurdity we have to put up with thanks to the corporations and their technological dystopia they're pushing on us.

  7.  @jasonpeters617  ... i appreciate your kind reply. you know, all we have to do to change things is to stop living as we do. stop participating in this corrupt system designed to pit us against each other for our daily survival. there's a way out of this mess but no one on the "right" or "left" wants to do what's REQUIRED to bring SANITY back to the world. whatever we're doing now ain't working. BOTH sides needs to change. but neither side is willing to. how does one expect the WHOLE WORLD to change if we're not willing to change ourselves? kinda makes you think don't it?
