this is where animals are so much smarter than people. here's a confrontation between two different species and no death occurs. no blood is drawn. one withdraws and the other doesn't chase him down to exact revenge or to harm or murder his opponent out of spite. there's no animosity or hate, or sense of vengeance or desire for cruelty. one withdraws and that's the end of it. both opponents live to "run away" another day. THAT'S NATURE! that's how humans are supposed to act.

@Ricardorhino88 ... i don't know. i think elephants are pretty classy animals with a remarkable intelligence. no rhino or hippo in their right mind would ever attack a grown elephant.

@apassionatenerd.3564 ... yep, there's a Hippopotamus killing spree going on and the media isn't covering it! conspiracy? unless the animal is hunting for food, they pretty much leave each other alone. and killing within a species is extremely rare and more often the cause of accidental injury than intentional harm. conflict will result in the loser running away and the winner letting them. with humans, the loser will plot revenge and the winner won't give any mercy. i think i prefer the "natural" way.

@Ribsi ... no animal, but people, kills without reason. its either for food, territory or some percieved threat. humans are the only animals that kill for pleasure or for no reason but the desire to see something suffer and die.

@Ribsi ... yes, i know. hippos are the most unpredictable and dangerous land animals. that doiesn't mean they kill for no reason. also dolphins and chimps don't kill for pleasure. so my comment stands.

@ДимаВеселов-в8и ... no, dolphins don't rape and intentionally cause miscarriages. (how woulkd they do that?) one problem is people keep attaching human emotions and motives onto animal behavior. no one, not even experts like you, knows what an animal is thinking. all we can do is observe the behavior not determine motive. animals kill for one observable reason - to eat. when fighting over mates or territory death rarely occurs because one of the combatants ALWAYS backs down. when one combatant backs down the conflict ends. and when death does occur its an accident not intentional. this is observable reality. interspecies interactions are one thing. interactions within species is another. few animal species harm others of their own species. and no animal seeks revenge or hold grudges. only humans continue conflicts after one backs down. only humans refuse to back down when they've lost a conflict. only humans seek revenge or hold grudges. this is an observable fact. so, why do people continually insist upon applying human emotions and motives to animals and even objects? maybe its instinct, maybe its wishful thinking, maybe its stupidity but in no way is it reality.
