they declined to indict based upon "stand your ground" laws? this has nothing to do with stand your ground. this was a "home intruder." a "home invasion." in every state in the country and every country on the planet you can defend yourself at all times while on your property or in your home. to say you can't shoot someone who breaks into your house is absurd. no jury on earth would convict that dad. that's why he wasn't prosecuted.

the cop needed to call for back-up and place the suspect on a "psyche hold." you don't just tell someone they're "mental." the cop recognized the mental illness and then told him to just leave? if the cop actually allowed the guy to just leave there's no telling the threat he would've posed to the public. who do they hire as cops these days anyway? i once encountered a mentally disturbed man at a bus stop. he tried to push me into traffic. after i got around him he was bouncing around and telling me about his mom the queen. when the bus came i told the driver to call the cops. HE REFUSED! when i got home i called 911 where the operatror accused me of lying and refused to do a damned thing. it seems cops either overreact or refuse to act at all. this country's so screwed up its beyond comprehension.

@jessvan1206 ... why do "people" keep telling me to calm down when i'm only stating facts? i'm not upset. i'm not freaking out. and nothing i wrote indicates i am. i'm just stating facts. i think people should stop freaking out when they read an intelligent comment. btw, my point is - even without "stand your ground" laws there was no grounds to arrest or charge the dad. he did NOTHING illegal. and "stand your ground" laws are perfect examples of some of the worst laws to ever exist. this isn't the wild west. we don't want people shooting each other in the streets!

@adamantiuscloudcat1799 ... thanks for the kind reply. the way i see it, anyone who breaks into another's home is insane. anyone who intentionally hurts or preys on others are utterly insane.

@TheTurdballs420 ... how was the d. a. incompetent? he didn't prosecute. what are you complaining about? and i never heard of a "self defense insurance company." what on earth is that? sounds to me like just another insurance industry scam.
