 @Mayonnaisetdy The only problem with that is not all houses have a south face,so solar doesn't work well on all homes. Not all states have california weather,some have 3-4 months of good weather and snow and ice. I have 8kw up and it does horrible on cloudy,rainy,overcast days and dull gray winters..
IF you got any government rebates,then your welcome,because that is other peoples tax money that helped pay for your system-not all states have these incentives. If you have no inverter failures or hail broken panels you might get the 25 years. your idea is as practical as no fossil fuel in the USA. Most wind and solar is manufactured thanks to fossil fuel along with a majority of stuff in your house,clothes,utensils,appliances etc. as well as electric cars too. Do you think solarcells,glass,plastic sheets,and aluminum frames appear out of thin air or windmill blades and parts for that matter?
