This is MY tax money they are doing this with! if you take a loan and sign on the dotted line,you are responsible for paying that loan. Are you going to pay for my house via your tax money?

you missed the point,you signed for this type of loan,so you are subject to its rules like it or not and responsible to find a way to pay it back. You basically gambled with your lively hood to get the student loan knowing this could happen. you do the crime,you do the time.

@Sanity333 Well yes,but that doesn't mean you have to participate,you are responsible for what you sign for on a legal contract. I am a old guy,52 now,i worked my butt off for what i have,i am blue collar as you can get and had many jobs in my life,but i fought,scraped and now i'm on 10 acres and a house and truck i paid for in full and no debt. It can be done,its just a fight all the way. We are not a Socialist country and never should be.

@Sanity333 There are certainly no guarantees in life. It can be quite a challenge. Its always been a sort of wild west. My neighbor had MS and had to sell his place next door a couple years ago. terrible stuff. We all struggle in some ways,i have had my share of health problems. Take care.

@T181T So what you are saying is he paid taxes and is a smart businessman? I mean if i was in his position i would take full advantage of any and every legal tax loophole with the best tax lawyer i could find. If he had evaded tax he would be arrested/fined/etc. If you don't like what he paid,change the tax law.

@michaelmartinez9622 karen nothing,you are delusional if you think the 78000 irs are going after them. just hiring those irs agents will cost US over 698 billion to pay for them,their salaries and retirement pensions, 2.1 trillion after 40 years. wake up. they wont come close to making up for what they cost. billionaires will simply leave the country and give the irs the middle finger.
