@jonnyonthespot050 The only problem with that is not all houses have a south face,so solar doesn't work well on all homes. Not all states have california weather, some have 3-4 months of good weather and snow and ice. I have 8kw up and it does horrible on cloudy, rainy, overcast days and dull gray winters..
IF you got any government rebates, then your welcome, because that is other peoples tax money that helped pay for your system-not all states have these incentives. If you have no inverter failures or hail broken panels you might get the 25 years. your idea is as practical as no fossil fuel in the USA. Most wind and solar is manufactured thanks to fossil fuel along with a majority of stuff in your house, clothes, utensils, appliances etc. as well as electric cars too. Do you think solarcells, glass, plastic sheets, and aluminum frames appear out of thin air or windmill blades and parts for that matter?

@Muykle There is no such thing as a green computer,so forget that. The reason is earth elements are mined by slave labor(tantalum, gold, silver, cobalt, and other minerals),metal frames need refined and cast/forged,plastic needs injection molding, pcbs made and soldered, and electronic components manufactured. Since the majority of this comes from china, theres how many boat trips involved? none of this is green or ever will be green. when these things break or the screen gets smashed or dropped and broken and its not cost effective to fix, its pure waste not worth recycling or reusing. Where do u think all that trash u toss each week goes? a Landfill. This falls right in with the silly notion that electric cars are green. The fact is man has a pretty bad footprint, and its not just water bottles it's everything. Its just how it so don't greenwash everything like the media pushes instead look at it for what it really is.

Science is good(*cough!*),it brought about LSD,atomic bombs, advanced methods of remote killing and drones, war time agent orange from monsanto, chemical farming, mustard gas, aerosol spraying our skies, unproven global warming to money grab, the tracked internet we know today, things like eggs, bacon, and butter are bad for you, etc. trust science, like your politicians lol. Don't confuse junk science with science, and note that scientist are often more wrong than right.

@jonnyonthespot050 The entire crooked Biden regime, the WEF,Agenda 2030 all say they want no fossil fuel, seriously where have you been? 5 minutes after Biden took office he started shutting down fossil fuel drilling and pipelines and no new drilling contracts, and just recently sold off our national oil reserves. They specifically tell you to just go buy a electric car! So,ok,you want new homes there mandatory built with solar, homes which already cost so much and were out of reach of most people, you want to add $20K+ to the price(more or less).. its not about green energy(which doesn't exist),its about GREEN WASHING,pushing BS that can't work or run our entire country. anyone with 3rd grade math skills can figure out it doesn't work. Typical solar panel efficiency is 21% IF you can get those panels which is horrible. The Texas freeze we had last year was not about lack of prep or a bad grid, our energy people specifically told Biden we needed to bring coal plants back online to counter it,but he said no,these plants were originally shut down because of Obama. Our grid is not setup for that kind of cold, true, but we didnt have a chance to even meet power demand because of this lousy administration. Windmills were all frozen in ice and solar had a sheet of ice over it,completely failing. I believe one thing, you are the true typical Californian.

The irony is that the so called liberal fools who claim to be green or enviromentally aware. They don't have a clue what green means... solar panels, electric cars, wind power etc are not green, do you know the coal/nuke power it takes to refine aluminum, glass, silicon for a solar panels and cars??the copper wire?,the plastics? the semiconductors? the list goes on lol.. much more power to make them than the given solar panel will ever give back in its 25+ yr life. So,technically they are not enviromentally aware. Not to mention they live in large, dirty, unsustainable, resource wasting concrete jungles. Green and organic the most abused words ever lol.

@andrasbiro3007 I see most of your statements apply to small euro countries.. I live in Texas which is much larger and expanse than the ones you list. many things you list are not practical here,but.. Yes we built gas stations, they are paid for so it makes sense to use them. Nuclear is not without problems, such as waste. Every single thing you named would cost me(The Taxpayer) more money to do...build plants, upgrade the grid, etc etc. Why should i have to pay for all the things that make your non green, non renewable electric car go?. Solar is not economical, with batteries it would run $10-20K+ per home..remember solar doesnt work at night so what if you are at work during the day and u get home near dark? . I have 8KW solar here and i know the cost!. Why do you keep calling this stuff renewable? broken solar panels are waste, windmill blades are waste, broken electric cars are waste, no savings on any of this just like a gas car now. You talk a good game but you answer to everything not only costs me more money,it solves no energy problems and just uses more steel, aluminum, plastic, plutonium, concrete etc. Here's a crazy idea, why don't we keep using our gas cars which we can drive to a gas station that is already paid for long ago,and put finite fuel(fossilfuel) in our tank and drive, instead of replacing it with another finite resource called Lithium. Oh and fossil fuels are used for way more things than just plastics and include natural gas, propane, methane, butane etc.

Why do people think electric anything helps the enviroment or is green? Electric vehicles,be it a bike or car, uses the exact same industries to make a car be it aluminum for cases, copper wire, steel laminates, shafts, bearings, welded frames etc. Lithium is a slave labor mined element. If it's made by china, one of the top polluters, even worse. It takes much energy to refine and process metals, weld frames etc. Climate change is normal and ever changing. Pollution is a problem. Carbon is not a problem, nearly everything contains carbon, wood for example is natures carbon fiber.Carbon is just another thing they can tax and steal money for. That being said New York City is a terrible craphole with crooked politicians and its not surprising Cuomo goes against what people want.

@Roboto129 There were several ways to speed it up,must used a EPYX fastload cartridge, well worth the $30 price, they did ok. there was action replay cart with fastloader but most common early on was a jiffydos rom, u replaced the c64 kernal rom with. it was excellent. As for hard drive interfaces, early on there was a hack to adopt some ISA pc harddrive controller card to c64 to do a homemade HD hack(used MFM or RLL hd i think). As for parallel cables, Datel made it originally for copying, but soon it was figured out how to use it for parallel loading, this cable was soldered to a 6522 chip in the 1541 and hooked to the cart port(or was it the user port)?. A dozen companies also made different floppy drives too. like SFD.. You could also use iEEE-488 drives with a interface for c64. the sky was the limit of stuff available and if you were inventive or had some money you could do anything. I still have the X-10 home control interface for c64 and modules for lights, appliances, etc. later as geos came out, there was a parallel printer cable called Geocable you could make or buy that allowed printing to my hp 5L laser printer.

@Einar979 First of all i never said anything of the sort. I said hydro has a huge enviromental impact. from the amount of resources it used to build it to environmental impacts like fish spawning, etc. Everything man does has a negative impact.
C02 IS NOT a bad gas, carbon MONOXIDE is. Quit buying into the BS greenhouse gas nonsense. CO2 is used by plants and trees to thrive which then Produce O2 in return. If u look in history we are way lower in Co2 now than ever. Quit buying into the junk science. Electric vehicles are no better than gas cars, sorry. the reason is electric cars are built in the same type plants gas cars are. electrics use lithium, much more copper, and still need lubricants make from petroleum for bearings, and tires from rubbers and synthetics made from ...you guessed it! petroleum.electric cars use alot of plastics, foam for seat cushions and coverings..yep petroleum. We wont even get into electronics waste and such from electric cars. nothing is a free ride. There is zero evidence to prove they are better, electrics just simply transfer pollution. Only a few states can use hydro for power, most others do not. Can u guarantee your car is charged from 100% hydro? i doubt anyone can. Diesels approach 50% efficience also. Gas cars near 30%, but these figures alone are usually compared with electrics, but people talking about electrics never factor power plants and infrastructure, transmission losses in the figures like they don't exhist. lol Do you know that in many places they have installed Diesel generators where they cant get grid power for charging electric cars..now is that for insanity.

@Einar979 Lets do a simple electric car exercise its basic math. Lets say everyone in your town bought a tesla electric car tomorrow. and everyone comes home from work that night at 5-6pm, they all plug their cars into the grid to charge. Now,1 car takes from 5kw to 10kw to charge, depending on how fast you want to charge it,a SUPERCHARGE at a tesla charging station can use 120KW! Now, just the act of these thousands of cars getting on the grid sucking that much power, the grid would go down. This doesn't even include people using electric heating, lights, toasters, fridges, dryers, stoves etc. already loading the grid in their homes already. Now multiply the cars in your town by most of America having electric cars and plugging in. Now,u want to ban fossil fuels,so that removes every coal and natural gas plant as power sources. You seem to like nuclear(until they dump the toxic waste in your back yard?)How will you now charge all these cars across america with half the grid you had before(remember, you banned evil fossil fuels). Now even Tesla realized the grid cant handle their super charging station(or is not available in many places) they install DIESEL generators to Supercharge these cars.. see the hypocrasy here? There is no way you will charge a entire nation of electrics with wind and solar, it just isnt possible. It would take trillions of dollars to build a grid just to support this, and you are still short on enough power on said grid to charge all these cars. Th en you still have the massive pollution problem of waste, spent lithium batteries to dispose of...where? We'll just dump them in your back yard, but hey,you are clean and green right? meanwhile we have working fossil fuel stations nation wide that are bought and paid for long ago. Add to this all the E-waste generated from fried electric car controllers, another source of pollution.
