@danzoom the same Stalin that encouraged small business, made religious restrictions more liberal and kept Lenin idea of promoting local cultures, eh? Not saying that for Stalin era would be absurd. Soviet union was the most multicultural entity in the world and denying it is just absurd. Nobody cared about your identity as long as you were beneficial part of the society. Hence why half a party were Jews, the ethnicity that were hated globe-wide at the time. USSR didn't care. Soviet Union had ambitions to spread worldwide, sure, calling it imperialist is strange though ,since it never had colonies and made it's best effort that core region would spend as much as they could on developing the border ones. Regarding freedoms - Soviet citizens had lots of them, contrary to the rest of the world. Freedom to have a job, house, medicare, education, etc.

@PUARockstar Russian regular army? Nice delusion, but if they did fight there from 2014 forward, then they wouldn't be so ass at fighting at the same region from 2022 forward, duh. Wagner was created to fight in Syria, my diude, was you blind at the moment? DPR indeed employed people from abroad and Russian governrment was more than happy to kick out all sorts of radicals that wanted to fight for the underdog instead of messing with Russian affairs. The most infamous Strelkov was ww1 LARPer and a monarchist, a person who have no place in modern Russia, uhuh. Might also surprise to you, but the Eastern Ukrainian regions are ethnically Russian (if not for all of Ukraine) so yes, a few family members came from Russia to help their relatives. Keep your delusions about graves of active duty soldiers to yourself, though.
