1. Well, Germans had an issue that they laready had lots of mobilised military that could not be moved to crush UK, so they needed a side to strike. It could be better for them to send those troops to conquer India together with Japaneese but that would take lots of oil and would be quite dangerous since UK had naval supremacy. Also the ideology of superority of arian race could not allow them to sek allies inside USSR. Furthermore, USSR had quite efficient counter-espionage system in place and Germans couldnt know of the inside problems there too well.
2. Halkin-gol series of battles with Japanese proved them incapable of breaking USSR from the East long before Germans attacked. Japanese knew that their effort against soviets will bring them only series of defeats at worst and wasteland at best (Siverian oil field wsere discovered only at 70s, so absolute majority of Eastern Russia was worthless to Japan at the time). Also, I would point out that attack on USA was not pointless. USA was enforcing economic blockade on Japan refusing to sell oil for such which could lead to eventual losing of war with China due to logistics problems. Also, Japan had quite a reserve of bio-weapons (that later on was stolen and became American reserve of such) and if they'd choose to use it against USA higly populated areas war against such could make quite a turn (while using it in the cold wastelands of Russia would not be so efficient not ot mention would require special procedures for their own advancing army to deal with contamination).
3. USSR was in the process of heavy industrialisation, the longer they waited the stronger Soviets would become. Yes, from current day we can judge that waiting would be smarter, but it was not mistake from Germans side to attack at the time, knowing what they knew. Only mistake there was not engaging in diplomacy as soon as the invasion stalled. Also, southern mountains were extremely easy to defend. Remember how in ww1 despite losing on all sides, Russian Empire was actually winning in the South against Ottoman Empire despite such sending all it had against Russians.

The main problem was logistics, In fact, logistic department of German army warned generals that winning against USSR is technically impossibility with current reserves but were tossed aside. Later on, same generals invented out of their assses a myth that it was Russian winter or Hitler's incompetence that costed them a war.
Secondly, USSR was absolutely ready for defensive war. Germany's mistake was to strike it first cause it raised huge morale boost for the Soviets and patriotic fervor. Soviets would not surrender, not even if Moscow would be taken, even if Germans came soo far to Ural mountains - the defense of such would be fierce. It would be quite different story if Stalin eventually attacked Germans to liberate Europe from fascism.
Thirdly, failed ideology. Fascism enforces woman to the role of a mother and a cook, subservient to the men. In the time where soviet woman were fighting along side soviet man and were working at factories, german woman were only tending kids and knitting warm clothes for their beloved on the front. It could be also noted that Nazi Germany hunted down specific categories of people and races among whose there were several brilliant engineers and scientists that escaped to other countries such as USA.
Finally, Nazi Army had no unified weaponry. Italians were armed with one type of rifles, Romanians with another, Hungaians with a third, etc. Lack of unified weapon standards led to the constant shortages of the relevant ammunition on the frontline and even in best possible logistic conditions the issue of lacking spare parts for repair would be quite annoying to say the least.
