  1. Pay close attention at Mongols attack routes - the Russia wouldn't suffer from them with strong Byzantium. Furthermore, "Russian vikings" attacked Byzantium.. to get it' culture, religion and technologies. There would be VERY high possibility for Russia to force itself to become integral part of Byzantium cause Russia LOV ED (with it's yandere love) what it got from it to the very heart. In our timeline it took quiet a long time for Russia to unwillingly somewhat (Moscow is the "Third Rome" as they say) separate itself (there are still folks who worship God in Greek's rituals, not the modern Russian ones) as a country on it's own even after total collapse of ERE, but if it wouldn't collapse.. I could totally imagine somewhat strange "alliance" when ERE is slowly conquering Africa and southern Asia glancing on a north with quite puzzled and unsure opinion while Mother Russia conquers northern Asia while fapping to glorious ERE and sending constant gifts to it's master who really don't know what to think about the situation Russians basically forced it into. It could then develop into the same two headed eagle - when Byzantium would be more concerned about Europe and ecome wetern roman empire and russia would be more concerned about eat and become eastern roman empire. the new ERE would totally help f there would be any sort of social|\political\economial problem in new WRE while new WRE would eventually consider new ERE.. superior? Anyway, if the industrialization would occur and bring the local uprisings with anarchic-terrorists like it did in our timeline the new ERE would eventually annex the new WRE and everyone would be happy.
