  2.  Magnapinna  failing against soviets had severe consequence on whole Japanese war strategy in the region. Also, Soviets did give out Chinese more than 1 million guns to use against Japanese and part of the reason behind it was that Japan attacked USSR. Those conflicts are not separate at all.
