@Gaga682 Soviet Union did it best to increase morale and efficiency of their troops. For example, they experimented with forming squads out of the people that worked on the same factory/lived in the same village\classmates and that indeed worked, establishing quicker and better cooperation during the fighting. The comradery spirit was high and even those that fled the fighting were often persuaded by words alone to come back without any persecutions.

South Koreans and Americans moved down civilians, North Koreans and Chinese treated badly and moved down prisoners of war. Cigs could somewhat help with stress relief and surely better than drugs and relatively better than alcohol, so sending them to the front was reasonable even if their long-term usage would be harmful for soldiers. Soldier without a form of stress relief is a bomb ready to explode.

Not really, Soviets took over northern islands with relative ease while Japanese government concetrated more than 60% of their arms in the south to repel USA. USA feared Soviets, that's why Americans decided to genocide jaapanese into surrender instead of just defeating them.

@savitharanmikasenanayaka6250 True. But they still viewed USA as their main ideological enemy, especially after Ruso-Japanese war of 1905 when USA acted as mediator and gave out a lot to Russia (mainly due to euro-centric bias and racism towards Japapnese) despite such losing that war.

@NickChigozie the issue of Americans using Japanese remains as a trophies and making some products out of such was very much in line with how Germans used the skin, hair and other remains of exterminated Jews and Soviets in the same manner (and no wonder, millions of Americans are of German ethnicity). I'm not even talking about rape and plunder common by american hands (and persecuted ONLY by Soviets among all of the fighting sides), Americans viewed Japs as some sort of animals and you should probably start with watching American propaganda of the time which reinforced that bias. Then you should probably read about concentration camps that Americans built for the AMERICAN citizens of Japanese ethnicity - their houses, businesses and other property was stolen while they were treated slightly above of animal level and ready to be exterminated if anything turned wrong on the Pacific theater. Finally, check out the racism in the academia that are present even in modern times - it's harder for white person to get into american university than to black one, it's harder for Asian person to get into university than to white one. US tries to look virtuous, while still being racist shithole it is.

By disrepecting such, by carving out trophies out of bones, meat and skin of the dead - Americans have shown that Japs will have fate worse than death if they succumb to those barbarian invaders. The disgusting behavior of americans led to the spiral of mutual hatred indeed. Despite Japs feeling of superiority, allies had to stain quite a lot of resoruces to push down their new colonies that viewed despotism of fellow Asians as a better alternative for outright extermination by hands of westerners. Though, I'd give you that they treated Chinese same way Americans treated Japanese and Germans treated Jews and Soviets. Still, the relations between mainland Chinese and their islands colonists are the thing that they themselves should think about.

@Rivaldi530 You mean the doctrine on speed and thorough offensive that often led to Allied surrender when Japs had no fuel no ammo tto enforce their demands but the British and French occupation forces had no will to fight left in them, eh? Also, after Japan lost the war - they left their arsenals for the colonies taken and such made an uprisings against their western masters that wanted their occupied colonies back, duh. Japanese occupation may be brutal, but the western one was even more bloodier and disgusting to the locals. Yes, other asians were viewed as second-class citizens by Japan, but at least they were viewed as humans, contrary to the western racists.

about half of the men imprisoned for their crimes in military were sent to gulag, half to the penal legions. Among those that were sent to gulag a movement was born of "honest working for redemption" which was at odds with organized criminals there who were mostly pretending to work at best, so the prison civil war happened with many criminals killed. Guards were of course on the side of ex-soldiers in that conflict that cleansed many prisons of the un-redeemable scum of the earth, so good for them. Those events are called "Suchia voina" ("bitch war", cause professional criminals viewed people that wanted honest redemption by work as bitches of the regime)

Wrong, at the time of WW2 the most harsh KGB leader Eshov was long gone and replaced by Beria. And even then, during the most Purgiest of years not only majority of population didn't have any fears but even some members of royal family survived by just going on scientific expeditions to better soviet science.

sounds like western propaganda to me. Soviets lacked experienced pilots to the point of making regiments of woman pilots. They wouldn't waste such a person on any other task.
